I would have pistol whipped the caretakers. I may not like the middle east, but that is still seriously f'd up to do that to little kids.

That is really disgusting.

A child is the most innocent of human beings, untainted and pure.
They deserve better and frankly, if the war in Iraq is uncovering situations such as this in it's course, then I support it.

I think you'll find the war in Iraq is the problem. That was a Government run orphanage. A Government set up with the help of the US and British.

Inside the building, a government-run orphanage for special needs children, the soldiers found more emaciated little bodies tied to the cribs. They had been kept this way for more than a month, according to the soldiers called in to rescue the 24 boys.

It's just a mess in Iraq. And that orphanage is just the tip of the iceberg. You can't turn it into a rallying cause for the War when the war is responsible for the deaths of thousands of children.
As the much over used phrase says "War is hell" and this is a part of it.

That doesn't mean the caretakers couldn't have treated the kids like actual human beings. It's not the governments fault that the caretakers decided to treat these kids like this. If there was no food and no clothes then you could say that its the governments fault and may have been due to the war, but that is not the case.

And I think general ignorance and statements that have little thought to them are the problem. Because right now, you just come across as one of those anti-war people that is really quite poorly informed, or just likes to make horrible jumps in reasoning.

Corrupt people do not make for a "wrong" government... and no matter how you look at it, what is over there now is still better than Saddam.

On the matter of this horrific act; I'm glad its been discovered, and I hope it prompts more awareness into matters such as these. It would not surprise me of other instances of this exist there, sad as it maybe.

Corrupt people in all forms of government can cause problems. Government officials denying the orphanage funds or food (which is not what happened here) and the caretakers skimming everything away from the orphans (which seems to be what did happen here) are two completely different things.
The only reason this happened in Iraq for so long was because the government is still not big enough to prevent such things. The same thing could happen in America, but it wouldn't take as long for it to be found out.

Yeah. Sure. That has to do with this how?
