An idea for if trucks are added

If trucks have to be in the game, they should be restricted to off-road events. Only the sport trucks should be allowed to race on the asphalt tracks. Regular trucks should be restricted to dirt tracks and rally courses. Otherwise, it looks ridiculous racing a Pontiac GTO against a Ford F-150.

I don't think any cars should be restricted in where they can drive or race. Thats part of the beauty of Gran Turismo, you can drive any car anywhere, the only limit is, some cars can't go off road thanks to the lack of dirt tyres.

Two things:
1) I agree with live4speed in that all trucks should be able to race wherever. In real life (which is what the game is based on) you can drive all trucks on the pavement, not just the sport trucks.
2) Classic Anycar, you do know that the Ford F-150 in GT4 was a sport truck which would go against what you just said, unless you were talking about the normal 4x4 version which isn't in the game yet.

The F-150 in GT4 is known as the Ford SVT Lightning. That is an exception. However, regular trucks, wheter 2WD or 4WD, should be restricted to dirt tracks.

EXCEPTIONS

Ford F-150 SVT Lightning
Dodge Ram Rumble Bee
Dodge Ram Daytona
Chevrolet S-10 Xtreme
Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme
Chevrolet Blazer Xtreme
GMC Typhoon
GMC Syclone
Toyota X-Runner

Like I said before, people in real life race trucks on the pavement, why can't they in video games? Who cares, besides you, that it looks a little strange? If you don't like it, then just don't do it! It's that simple!

Here's another idea: how about restrictions based on the type of car? Cars would only be raced against cars. Trucks would only be raced against trucks. Vans, if any, would only be raced against vans.

You forgot the fastest of them all: the Dodge Ram SRT10 (you know with the Viper V10?). I also agree with live4speed that trucks should be able to be raced on the tarmac aswell. And as allready said, if you don't want to see an F-150 racing a Pontiac GTO then don't enter a race with a Pontiac GTO while you're drivin' an F-150.

No, no, no. I hate that idea. I don't mind some competitions like that, a specific truck even or people carrier event (that'd be quite funny) but to limit the game like that would be crap.

I would almost bet that a Typhoon would keep up with a Skyline around the track, so I don't see why you would only race one against the other.

EVERY Idea you have posted so far would be restricting free gameplay, freedom to do what you want with your car. It would be like taking steps backwards for the GT series. It would be nice if you could turn such options you suggested on or off to create a very specific race, but they should definately not be standards.

Actually, the originator would have to be the 1979 Dodge Ram Li'l Red Express. It was built because Dodge wanted to produce a factory custom pick-up. It used a police-spec 360ci V8 and was one of the fastest production vehicles from Detroit in 1979.

The orignal sport truck was the Dodge Dude according to Stacey David of Trucks.

Hell I've seen all the episodes, but they are all pretty much the same...put a Skyjacker lift on a truck.

i'd like it if you can choose to slam your truck and make it a tarmac assault vehicle, or jack it up, and go mud boggin' or swampin or climbing events. that would be neat

You could count this as a sport truck, but the first sport truck to have powertrain and suspension upgrades was the Dodge Li'l Red Express. The Dodge Dude "was based more upon paint and tape appearance upgrades rather than comfort or engineering advancements" according to an old advertisement i found.

Of course also the '05 Ram Daytona and '05 Ram Rumble Bee editions. But just to let you know Classic Anycar, the Ram Daytona and Rumble Bee are just sporty trim packages for the Ram and they are available on both the 2WD and 4WD versions. They do nothing with the engine or suspension therefore they technically aren't sport trucks (unless you count sport trucks as being any truck that has big shiny wheels, ground effects, special decals, and a custom exhaust tip)

So let's not let anybody race a truck against a car because Classic_Anycar thinks it looks rediculous.

Bad idea. Hate to break it to you, but just because something LOOKS rediculous doesn't mean it shouldn't be allowed.

Aesthetic views are not reasons for anything.

Let me tell you boy, I can't wait to get my hands on a Geo Tracker and take it for a run around the 'ring......against cars.
