An Idea for Online Play

So, I have this idea and I hope it hasn't been brought up before and I end up looking like a fool. It's sort of like an online career you can set up with friends.

Say a group gets together and they can start a series that saves and can be accessed at different times, depending on when everybody's available. The series would go like this. Everyone starts with the same car and zero credits, and the series is set to a specific number of races determined by the group members. After the first race, players receive points and credits based on the finishing order. Each player can choose to spend the credits to upgrade the car, or save the credits for later. If a player earns enough credits, that player can buy a new car that they feel would suit them better than the competition. This is because buying a car forces that car onto the rest of the field. Everyone gets the same car starting from stock condition. This brings strategy into the play in that you want to have some credits to spare in such a case so you can upgrade whatever new car is chosen. Of course, points are cumulative and at the end, a winner is crowned. After the last race players receive large credit payouts to their normal GT account based on their championship positions, and perhaps players can even win decent cars depending on the number of races.

I know there might be some holes in this, and I'm not looking for any kind of approval or thumbs up or anything. It's just an interesting idea that popped into my head, and I wanted to see what kind of discussion or even new ideas that this might bring.

Hmm, interesting idea. The host, however, should be able to set the amount of starting credits. Having no credits at all will hinder many people, as they have to buy the car to compete in the league if they don't have it.
