Defeat hurts. However I want to extend a major round of applause for everyone that made it out of round 1.

To the top 1% in the country!

512 racers out of 55000 proved that they have what it takes. For 480 of us the road ends here, not because we were slow, but because we were bested by people who were even better than the best.

Congrats to everyone and may we never drive cape ring, eifel, or indy again!

+1 👍

It's bittersweet for the ones that didn't make it(myself included) to the top 8 in the region, but definitely an serious accomplishment to be a 1%er. Cheers.

Thanks to all. Everyone should be proud to be the top 1% of the nation. Though I threw in the towel as the weekend approached as I was booked schedule wise, I am still proud that I was one of the top people early in the week for about 2 days (especially without replays in play) and figuring out Eifel by having one of the best times in the nation before the replays kicked back in. That and playing GT (GT5 is my first online GT game) online only since November.

Finished 38th in the west after giving up early Friday as that was my own deadline since I couldn't play anymore during the weekend.

Don't sell it short, #512 of 55000 is the 99.09th percentile. ;)
If you finished top 100 nationally that's the top 0.18%

I to much congratulate those who have gone on. I just hope this is not the last time GT Academy comes to the US.

Congradulations to all. May you have the support of many as yall battle for the best in orlando! Im glad to have met so many fast racers its very refreshing to see so many that are so fast :)

Indeed, a huge congratulations and god speed to the finalists! Win or lose, it was a great experience and I can't wait to go racing with you all again asap! You guys (were there any gals?) deserve it!!

Best,
Joey

There is also a chance that there could have been a faster driver(s) in one of the four regions which did not get into 128 top in their region, but could have been in the top 128 in another region. So when you calculate the percentile - it is actually a more complex formula :-)

A big congrats again to everyone that made it. Represent GTP well in Orlando and know I'm cheering for you all and hoping the best racer wins. I guess I should feel a sense of accomplishment for doing as well as I did, although seeing my dream slip away is tough.

My hat's off too all the winners and losers that gave it their all and good racing to the ones that are moving on to Orlando. Good Luck guys!
