Google has finally taken the wraps off of the sugary snack-themed codename for Android N: "Nougat." The company also showed off its new statue design today, which features a green Android mascot standing atop three bars of the chewy confection.

Android Nougat (that's going to take some getting used to) will be the final version of the N developer preview, which has been with us since March. The final release will come sometime during the third quarter of this year. Nougat will bring a redesigned notification panel, support for side-by-side apps,VR enhancements, and a ton of other improvements.

I just want the enhanced doze.
I like it now but I like it even better when I am on the move and don't need to charge it up after so long.

Just going to put this as a new message.
Android Nougat will be Released August 22nd.
Nexus owners should expect to update shortly after.
Others will have their own timeline.

I'm guessing you got that idea from this? http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...d-nexus-6p-nougat-updates-coming-august-22nd/

If so it's a fairly accurate prediction. But ordinarily the Nougat update will just "fall over" the span of September and October, with Nexus devices receiving first priority.

I have a Nexus as well, so I'm looking forward to Nougat

Which version?
I have the 5x, I thought about the 6p but that's a bit bigger than I would of liked.

I am sad that my Nexus 5 is not getting it.
And I was quite surprised to read that my Galaxy S5 is slated to get it. I figured it was on its way out by now.

Samsung and LG have been especially good with their Android support, with many other manufacturers your lucky to just get one additional Android version going forward.

Android N has officially hit Nexus devices. (As of 2 hours ago) I am still waiting on mine (Nexus 5x)

Just got the update. 1171.5 mb to install.
Guess if you were on the DP5 it's only another 50 mb.

If you want 7.0 you can enroll in beta to push the update like within seconds.
Can then opt out of it and you will still have 7.0

It might not.
Supposedly, the code for the Snapdragon 800/801 has been removed from AOSP. In other words, no official Nougat for devices (including the S5) using those processors.

One of the biggest things I was looking forward to was night mode.
While it's "hidden" it can still be used. Just wish it would come back fully so I can have it change without having to do anything.

There's an app called Night Mode Enabler that adds a Quick Tile so you can turn it on and off. Though it seems automatic night mode doesn't work.

I got it.
I also uninstalled the app and it still was there.

I do wish auto did worked. (Don't know if you need the app installed for that to work or not)
