I had worked at the same job from the time I was 18 until 35. It was a family business and it's all I know. The problem is that it was a sawmill and it really didn't teach me any other skills except working at a sawmill. They do not pay much unless you are part of management, and most sawmills managers are family. For the last 4 or 5 years the industry has been falling and in February of this year we shut it done for good after almost 30 years.
I started college as soon as we shut it down and figured I would get training in something that I knew I would always have an easy opportunity to find a job. Something in healthcare. I'm going now to be a physical therapy assistant, but so far it doesn't interest me at all. I have no idea what else to try and get a degree in so I'm thinking there must be somewhere online that has a good test to determine your likes and give you educational suggestions. Does anyone know of any decent ones to use?
