Hello GTPlanet users! I am trying to apply to a drift team, but I haven't had much luck recently. I looked at several forums such as Team Nemesis and Team Burst, but it seemed like they didn't have any open spots. I used the Free Agents Thread, but I had 0 luck on there. It seemed like everyone but me was getting contacted.

Information about me: Age: 16
I typically drift in my M5, M3, Z4 M Coupe, and able to adapt to most RWD cars.
I haven't had any affiliations with any previous crews/teams.
I play on my DualShock3 Controller. Never used a wheel.
My mic is broken, and I rarely use it.

What I'm looking for in a team:
Welcoming to new members.
A team that doesn't get into flame wars with other crews.
A team that will give me advice and push me to do better.
One that is not full of elitists who think they are superior to anyone that's not in their crew.
And finally, the most important of all: since I live on the east coast of America, I would like to have a team that can cooperate with the EST time zone. I can't participate in Team Nemesis Night Slide lobbies (to get noticed a little bit :/ ) because they often start way too late for me on school nights.

If your team is open, please contact me on this thread or by private message here on GTPlanet or on my PSN ID: CallmeDan_

Some of your problems are; (doesn't apply to ALL teams)

1. Your age, it's a bit young for some teams

2. No wheel, some teams have DS3 users but they had to really prove their smoothness to get in. Not everyone uses a wheel but it IS an asset.

3. Lastly your mic, most teams require a mic.

It's not the age that counts, it's the maturity.

Very true but if no one knows you, how can someone define your maturity? You have to show it, not just use the word! Get online with your mic and chat with people, it's the best way to get out there.

In all fairness, all you have is a handful of posts here so it's hard to judge how mature you are (or not).

When people hear me on the mic and then I say how old I am, they're reaction normally is "holy c**p!" because I have such a deep voice LOL. I do join lots of lobbies and when I run a lobby (typically the original host leaves and it's up to me) I usually am laid back, but serious when I need to (ie: kick someone for not following rules)

A mic isn't really needed. Most of the good drifting is done in lobbies without mics :)

Eh, depends on who's on the mic; admittedly there are times when the 'Mute Audio' option is a godsend, but having a mic made the social aspect of drifting soo much easier for me, as I tired of keeping a usb keyboard nearby..also the need to stop and pull over every 3/4 lap to answer a question or make a statement got real old real quick...as an added bonus, in a team environment, especially during practices it can be helpful to have a teammate give verbal cues the screen angles may not allow for...

Announcing intentions, and apologizing for transgressions is the subject matter for good drifting lobbies with mics....
That is, until we inevitably start farting around...sigh...Y chromosomes and all...lol

I joined Team Blackout a while ago but I hung around with them for ages and then got invited in. Try find the Sunday Night Blackout thread, make a few appearances and who knows :sly:
