I'm not good at drifting I try to drift and sometimes I get 8000 points max on a full lap drift on the top gear test track please help I usually get 3000-4500 points per lap I usually spin out every corner

Here's my advice: Drop the racing slicks and use comfort hards or mediums. Also use less HP cars, it's a bit overkill using 1000HP cars. Also, go into online rooms, preferably team hosted rooms, you learn a lot, that's how I started a year ago.

Thanks

for drifting I use a fully tuned
LFA with comfort soft it's not as powerful as my other cars only 700bhp but your right it is too much I'll buy a Mazda rx7 or supra and tune it to like 265bhp if it has less

Well not that low either, the Z33 fully tuned (530HP) is a great car to start with. The RX-7 Spirit R '02 too.

That's the rx7 I was talking
About I didn't know it should be that high cause so many people say you need
200-300bhp I didn't agree but because so many people said that I thought it was true

Well it's enough to get the car sideways, but most people tune their cars around 400-650HP, unless it's a drift missile, which is around 200-400HP.

BTW, I'm talking about the drift teams community.

Get yourself a premium S15, buy all the parts (mid range turbo if you're having trouble with spinning). Comfort hards, 60/60/60 diff, 6-speed close ratio tranny and give'r hell.

Oh my god no, don't do that. Never use 60/60/60, and always use a customizable transmission, that way you can tune the gears so you have no gear lag going sideways.

If you want go into our team thread, there's a tuning guide in the original post. Here's the link: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=225678

60/60/60 is terrible :nervous:

A 2-way LSD 10/60/60 or 1.5-way 10/60/30 is a good setting to use when learning especially. Look at KYOKI's thread, there's a tuning guide on there for how each setting effects your drift.

The points scoring system is a bit rubbish anyway. Just watch the leader board replays for a seasonal event and then watch a formula d event on youtube.
So don't pay much attention to the points you score, if you did what most of these TVRspeed12 users do you'd be laughed out of the circuit.

Personal preference, I run locked all the time on some cars.

Are you on a wheel or a controller?

Ok so I guess you are in the learning process right now if your spinning out. If you are spinning out this means you are going too hard on the throotle and if you are snapping to the opposite side of the corner this means you are counteersteering too much. What you can do when you approach a corner is:

Let's say its a right hand corner, don't go too fast, just do about 50mph. And jab the wheel to the left and then back to the right and let your fingers off so the wheel counteersteers, just as you let of your wheel full throotle for a second and then catch the wheel about halfway and control if you are getting too much angle, less throotle and if you are going into inside and about to spin more counteersteer. I know this probably doesnt make much sense but you can also onboard videos on youtube to help you. BTW a good starter car is the Mazda RX7 FC or FD, fully tune the car except the turbo. Use a low- medium rpm turbo to avoid turbo lag, you dont wanna exceed 400hp. Then buy the 6speed transmission and the all the lsd parts. Set your LSD to 5/60/55. And now Il give you a brief suspension setup that should get you sideways.

Ride height: Slam it at the back, and about -10 in the front.
Spring Rate: 7.5 in front and 5.5 in back.
Dampers: 4 front 3 back
Dampers: 3 front 2 back
Anti-roll bars: 4 front 3 back
Camber: 2.5 front and 0.5 back
Toe: front -0.10 and back 0.00

And finally slap on some comfort hards and practice, practice, practice...

I hope I helped you at least a little bit, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Wise words. 👍

For one learn to do traction racing flawlessly, then as you get bored of using traction start to traction racing with a little "slip" and once you master that you go all out drift. try a 1990 RX-7 or a silvia s13

This also works the other way as i was terrible at racing without TC when in a RWD but then i weeks learning to drift now i can catch the car when it starts to slip, also you have to learn throttle control 👍

Man rally driving all the way I picked up drifting pretty quick by just doing rally wiv ffb on 10 and no power steering trust me do that for a few days go back to drifting and bam it all clicks chaining drifts tho is hard work I'm still finding a bit hard
