Hello everyone.I need some help with something or rather some pre-help so I'll know what to do when my wheel arrives.

I'm curious to know how to mount my steering wheel to a desk, but if I can clamp it I would rather do that.If the desk is thick enough will the clamp work without me having to go through the trouble of mounting?

Here is a photo of what I will be mounting to.

There is a strip of wood on the top of the desk that is 3 2/8 of an inch wide and 6/8 of an inch thick. After this the rest of the desk is 5/8 of an inch thick. This info is for those who may know off the top of their head what size bolts I would need and whatnot. Also I'm not a real whiz with the measuring tape so feel free to correct my numbers.

I've never seen the wheel on the underside so i am unsure how it would mount.Any help with this would be great also.Pictures would be awesome if someone could post the underside of the wheel for me.Thanks.

The clamp (assuming it is the same as the CSR) will open wide enough for that desk. I attached mine to a similar wood stand, approx. the same thickness.

*One thing you may want to do if you do use the included clamp is cut a piece of cupboard lining (preferably the solid style, not the dotted style) between the clamp and underside of desk and between the topside of wheel and desk. I do this and it helps tremendously to avoid the wheel ''sliding'' or ''moving'' when heavy turns are met with the powerful FFB motors.

Thanks for this.I will take a look at this when i have more time.I've been at work all day today and am a bit tired at the moment.

After I fill my belly with Turkey tomorrow,I'll take a good look at it.

Cool man thanks for the advice.

I would prefer to use the clamp if i can get it to hold good since i still use my Driving Force GT Wheel.

I have a question.Instead of using cupboard lining would linoleum work?I have some leftover from when i put linoleum in the bathroom.I could cut two strips and place them back to back so the grip side is facing the desk and wheel.Does this sound like a good idea?

The reason I used the cupboard lining is due to its tackiness and flexibility. It also allows for the clamp to press into it to act like an anchor (kinda). If the linoleum is soft, in the sense that it would allow for something to press into it, it may work.

I made a plate of wood on which i hardmounted my CSR

The underside of this plate is rubbercoated. I made two clamps with thumb srews to mount the plate to my desk.

Absolutely rock solid, absolutely no movement possible at all.
Very easy and fast to remove in about 5 seconds.

Now the drillingplate for the CSR Elite wheel is available, i'm gonna make one for the CSR Elite wheel.

I have the clubsport table clamp and it is fantastic. No worries about slipping even on a very uneven folding table that I use. The biggest plus though is the shifter mount they include with it, the supports are so much stronger than the stock arms if you are going to get a shifter.

Also the tilting feature is very nice and gives the wheel a much better resting position.
