A couple years ago me and my buddy John stumbled upon Zeitgeist on YouTube and were immediately sent into an epiphany. Now, I don't know if it was because I was sixteen and open minded or if it was because everything made sense.. or both.. but I bought in. Has anyone else?

Here's a link to the video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNf-P_5u_Hw

But I don't know how to embed that.

Ya sounds about right. There's a book named "The Golden Bough" written around 1920 by an englishman that I stumbled upon. It's a long and deep study on how magic became religion and religion became science. Jam packed with examples of primitive cultures and their beliefs in sympathetic magic. Here's a link:

When my Dad showed it to me a few years back, he just said "Keep and open mind and get a different perspective, but take it with a grain of salt" It's interesting but i don't know how true it is.

Yes I agree, it was nice to have another side to the religion story, however it's very true that you must take it with a grain of salt. That's how I felt atleast.

That is quite a nice database of read-worthy texts, thank you for that. I have bookmarked the page for future reading as well.

I watched the Zeitgeist Addendum and i found it extremely interesting, im not in doubt of its legitimacy i think what their saying is real and happening right now...

Watch Zeitgeist Addendum and Zeitgeist Moving Forward. The first film's interesting, but the following films are much more so. 👍

It's just another conspiracy theory to add to the pile, it is the best argument for religion being a crock of **** as they all follow the same story, which the odds are so long that it would just never be

Only the first third of Zeitgeist has to do with arguing against religion. And it is by far NOT the best argument against religion, although it does have some good points. The rest of the film is mostly speculation which may/may not be 100% accurate, but should make you realize that not everything you're fed through mass media is either.

But hey, even if you don't like or agree with the first Zeitgeist movie, I would highly recommend watching Zeitgeist Addendum and Zeitgeist Moving Forward. They have nothing to do with "conspiracy theories". They're about why the economy is so messed up, and what really needs to be done in order to fix the problem. Don't let the idea of it being about economics fool you into thinking they'd be boring though, they're quite interesting and moving. 👍

Well, I'vee watched Zeitgeist, of course, and I found it to be pretty interesting, overall. It doesn't spoon-feed you any truths, but I think that it could make you think about all kinds of stuff, which in and off itself is a rather important and valuable trait, I think. For the most part, it just wants you to question stuff, and that's exactly what I'm doing. The questioning includes Zeitgeist iteself, though.
Not that I didn't question what I was told prior to Zeitgeist, but I guess it might get the idea across for other people who didn't do so in the first place.

Whether you're agreeing with it or not, it's a movie that, in my opinion is worth seeing, either way.

I agree with every post so far, it's been about 5 years since I've first seen it, and have seen it since many times. I own Addendum, and it is well worth the watch. I do believe some of the ideas presented may not be full truths, especially if he gathered information through many sources to pull that all together, but for the overall idea I have come to think that it is true. Just me though.
