I searched the subject, but "3D" is too short to search...

My new TV is 3D passive and of course I tried GT5 in 3D, but I really didn't it:yuck: Seems like instant headache material. But maybe I'm missing something (like good 3D settings :))

Is anybody use the 3D as there normal mode?

Im the same way as you. Turned it on, drove a lap, and immidiatly turned it back to the original. It was a good thought by PD but good god, it hurts WAY to much to use it lol.

My friend had bought a 60-inch Samsung 3D-capable plasma TV, so I brought GT5 over to his house and tried it out in 3D. There is definitely a depth when 3D was on, like the car interior was far away and the speedometer, RPM bar, etc. were all close. But like what Spirithockey61 said, sooner or later it will cause discomfort in your eyes.

Moral- don't use 3D. :)

That's generally what I find with people new to 3D. Experiencing it for the first time they generally try to see all the fancy 3D effects and rather than focusing on one point of the picture, they are trying to take it all in, causing eye strain and headaches. You have to get used to viewing the picture in 3D and get used to what your looking at.

Once you do, it's awesome. I find I can pick out and hit apexes better in 3D. Monaco is a great test for this where you have to be very accurate. Give 3D some time, you will find you get used to it and it doesn't hurt after a while. Myself, I was lucky with 3D and it has never given me a headache. Where my mate did get an instant headache, but after a couple of hours he can watch it no problem.

I will try what you did in the future, because I only used the 3D mode for 10 minutes . But, like everything else in life, once you get used to it, you're good :)

Yeah, since it provides the viewers more dimensional sight on the screen which they say themselves unaccustomed to gaze into for a long time, the screen is at first a little hard to stare at, but over time when your sight gets used to the different motions projected on the screen they will be no biggie to be seen without health problems. 👍

In the spirit of giving things a go more than just the initial run, I played with the 3D a bit more yesterday. In fairness to my initial test, I was having to get used to the feel of a new TV too.

I set the parallax to 5 and left the other at default. On the Autumn Ring Mini the 3D is stellar! Lots of details and the curbs are a lot of fun to pick out in 3D. The Ring 24Hr track, especially in a fast CLK Touring Car, is a bit hectic:scared:

Ultimately, I think I'm still a 2D guy, but the next short track WRS TT will be tested exclusively in 3D:)

Im(humble)o, the only proper 3d would be that which is
housed in a dome-like tv that you could walk around

Anything else is 2d faked-up and called 3d

you can use the ingame 3d settings to fix about 70% of the ghosting.
but, yes..3d GT will give you a headache. PD has much to learn about 3d

I've just tried gt5 in 3d for the first time, got my new 3d tv today. It realy dose work very well, amazing depth with the in car veiw. It's not something I will use for gt5 a lot (my eyes went a bit funny after an hour of playing) but as a novelty thing or to show off to your mates its fantastic!
