Anyone ever have the screen freeze?

Hey after playing for only 2 hours straight my game froze on the menu screen....ya know the screen where u can go race , tune shop and etc...

I didn't bump the ps2 and my cd isn't scratched!  I have the vertical base.   I had tons of money and some good cars and it froze on me and I lost it all....man I am so bummed.  

Anyone else ever have this happen?

wow and i thought only computer games froze...well ill be saving my game every two minutes for now on.....j/p never happened to me except and yes i know i dont use it anymore but when i used gameshark for psx

When you choose a race you want to enter, and hit ENTRY, my screen froze up.

Save more often and don't play for such a long time.

If it frozed, just press release, take out the CD, clean it. If it's clean, just put the cd back. And the game continues!!!!!!
Don't press reset!!!

it could be that the lens of the ps2 is dusty and that makes it more difficult to read the dvd format
