Anyone not preordering this game?

The GT games have always been a release day buy for me and part of me wants to to get the 15th anniversary cars that are coming with the preorders....but there is a big part of me that just doesn't want to spend the money right now. As the GT series goes on it seem they get farther and farther out of touch with what people really want in a game and on top of that the game has gotten downright boring.

It seems that the "quirks" of the game just increase.....with the "special" cars you couldn't race in GT4 to the standard cars in GT5 that you couldn't do much to, the laughable paint editor, measly what 10 or so cars that could get racing mods and the total ball drop of Top Gear integration? Lets not even get started on the sound which has always been ok at best and at worse downright poor.

GT5 was pretty much the last straw..I think I played it for about 2 weeks before I got bored with it and completely quit playing it......far far less than any other GT game. I usually put at least enough time in to get some nice race cars...but not with 5.

I've tried to read up a bit on 6 to see if anything has changed and yes a few things have but it seems that far more hasn't. It doe seem to have some interesting things in it but not really enough to intrigue me....

So I ask how many have this preordered and how many are going to wait until the reviews come out to make a decisions. I think I'm waiting for the reviews and even more I may just wait until this hits the bargain bin.....

An I missing a big must have feature with this game?

Also like I said I haven't played the game at all for a fairly long time so if any of these has been updated in GT5 please let me know...

For me GT5 is a game where the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. What I mean by that is that if you invest in a wheel and host race series and / or join race series and build up a big circle of friends that you enjoy racing with and chatting to then you will enjoy the game. If however you just race on your own and ignore the online community I imagine you would get bored within a couple of weeks.

For me the addition of Brands Hatch, Mount Panorama, extra cars especially classics including Ferraris and the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe make the game an essential pre-order purchase. Then add the improvements to the course maker - I have plenty of friends who worked miracles with the old GT5 track maker so I am looking forward to seeing what they can do with GT6.

It's not all sweetness and light and my expectations are low, but it is frustrating that some simple changes probably won't be made or won't be good enough such as car sounds, event creator, livery editor (even just race numbers on the doors and bonnet would be an improvement), adjustable steering rack and improved AI.

Me. I wish Kaz realize gameplay features are as much important as new content.

1200 cars, ok lot of dupes, skylines, miatas, 300gt, let's say at least 700 cars without dupes, it's still a LOT.
GT need to make good use of all this content.

We need the option to create car classes, we need option to select AI opponents, we need an event creator, and decent AI, that's what we really need.

GTA vice city was the last game I pre-ordered IIRC. Never have I not managed to buy a game on release at my local block buster or tesco - granted block buster is a non-thing now!

Either way I don't get pre order hysteria.

I'm holding out for reviews & want to see what people on these forums think before I part with my hard earned cash. There have been (for me at least) some very questionable design choices since GT5, so I'll wait on this one. This will be the first GT title that won't be a day one purchase for me.

I'm not pre-ordering. I can't. Somehow all the possible payment options are unavailable.

I'm buying it from a store in physical form on Dec 5 where it will release on time here.

lOl u mad

It's not a game that really needs to be pre-ordered. I'm just going to walk into the store on Friday and pick it up, it's not like they're going to run out.

I thought twice about pre-ordering too but after Gt5 there are things they just can't ignore this time except for minus the sound. The handling is supposedly more tight and the new physics model will make gameplay less of a guess. Plus they understand how much everyone hates grinding so I think this is the GT for everyone.

I have preordered GT6 and I'm looking forward to playing it. The last Gran Turismo game i played was 4 on the ps2, unless you want to count the demo over the summer for the Academy, I thought it was just fine. I have read tons of info up here on GT Planet of people nickpicking the game to death, and tons of speculation...It seems like people expect everything to be absolutley perfect, which isnt gonna happen, and as far as I'm concerned there has never been a "perfect video game" Games are supposed to be fun, and I've enjoyed every Gran Turismo game that I've ever played. On topic, I preordered the game not in fear of copies selling out, but because it comes with free extra content...i mean why wouldn't you want free stuff???

I'm not. It's not because I'm not sure about getting the game, but I just don't want the pre-order bonuses.
You could have just taken the bonuses and had some competition here for a person that didn't get them.
It's not too late ;)

I'm not even thinking about buying it until I see more than 6 cars in a career mode race. And even then I still have a lot of reservations.

Not only am I not pre-ordering, I'm not even sure if I will get around to GT6. I am interested, but the timing is a bit poor since I've got quite a bit of FM5 ahead of me still. Honestly, the one thing that really interests me with GT6 is the ability to use GPS data in course maker. That aside, I'm otherwise not particularly excited for GT6, though I still like the franchise.

Not pr-eordering simply because all and every pre-order items are a pure marketing stunt.
I can enjoy the game just a much without said items, and I will be supporting the game company directly.

Exactly. I always buy in the shop on release day, which often a day earlier because shops don't stick to release dates like when you pre-order. :)

Me. With what I've seen so far I probably won't buy it new, it will be the first time ever in 15 years I can't be bothered. Second hand purchase this time as there is not enough PD did to justify this being a new game, and most of the flaws are still there...

I will get this GT6 the way i got GT2...

No need for extra contents for me to enjoy this game...

I playoffline mainly since GT2 and i am not bored at all forthe past 15 years.

So no need to pre order for me

Think I am only pre ordering for the exclusive cars (anniversary ed) otherwise I might not have bothered either, GT5 got really dull so this better be good or it won't last long.

I'm hovering on the Pre-order button on PSN... but I'm unsure I want a digital download of this game or the physical one.
Another two days to decide I suppose.

Ah, screw it. I preordered the Bluray
