I thought I've read where Bob is supposedly smarter now after the update. Well my bob is only level 3 and surprisingly he is doing WAY better. I mean I every single time I pushed overtake he would do it instantly and I only had to ask him once! Anyone else notice a better listener now?

Well, I just put a level 2 Bob in the Ford GT Spec II Test Car for the American Championship Indy race, and he won with very little encouragement. Not sure that means he's better, though, because I think to win it the first time I put a new Bob in the ZR1 RM because new ones brake later (part of being a worse driver, apparently), so I'm not sure. The problem is it'll be very hard to distinguish placebo effect from reality with this, as bad Bobs did win races before.

Although I was surprised at this Bob's tendency to actually pass people and stay alongside other cars when taking the corners, so who knows?

HOLY CRAP is Bob better!!! i just launched him in an X1 for an endurance race. Old bob would slow WAAAAAYYYYY down when he came up behind a slower car and would stay there till a long straight. Now he SLAMS them off the road or BLOWS by them no matter what. He is Kicking A$$ and not taking names. his lap times are much faster now too because of this. I LOVE IT. he drives like me now ;)

Which attitude are you guys using with your Bobs? I use slightly hotter Bob than the cooler one because they will overtake without waiting and speed up when AI is on his ass. I have also noticed he's gotten alo more gutsy and isn't as big a wuss as he used to be.

It seems my bob is doing a much better job at overtaking. His fast lap times seem the same, but his average lap time has improved because he doesn't slam on the brakes and sit behind slow traffic anymore.

bob is much much improved!! finali win the historic car cup with no prob, left that chaparel for 10 sec. overtaking is really much improved, and needs les encouragment during the play.
great job!

win with toyota 7

My drivers seem to be a little more aggressive with their overtaking. Also noted that they have increased their rear end collisions.

Definitely more aggressive in overtaking but also ramming into everyone in front. My Bob is currently running the 24hrs Le Mans and every single car has rear end damage.

After the update, my BOB did the historic cup cote d/zur race on his first attempt!
I had to keep him in his sweet spot, with the driver controls.

After nearly 25 attempts at this race before the 1.06 update, I can certainly say I see a massive improvement.

Hopefully the same will apply in the Nascar and Formula GT races

Uh, my drivers seemed to have regressed. I put my level 28 driver into a X2010, a car that he has used many, many times and I had him run the Indy race in the DCC. Every lap he spun out. If it weren't for the speed of the X2010, he would have lost the race. Since the update, every B spec raced I've run, my drivers aren't doing as good as they were before. The car setups are exactly the same too. Weird.

Edit: I tested my drivers in different cars at Indy in the DCC. I put two of them in the FGT - same result. They constantly spin out trying to pass other drivers instead of smoothly going around them like before the update. I put two different drivers in the Sauber - same thing.

All my car setups are exactly the same as before the update. What the hell?

I deciced to finally run the FGT Championship series this morning. I'm using a level 36 Bob. He started out with a green arrow, but he's my favorite so I used him anyway. The first two races he was amazing. Passing cars on the outside of turns with ease and easily dominating the races. I was beginning to think this update had made my Bob better. Then his arrow turned blue and I'm thinking he'll be driving even better. WRONG!!!! At the Nurburg race he reverted back to his old self. Wouldn't pass anybody and spun out at least 10 times. So I had to babysit him and he finally won. Now he is dominating Monza. Bob can't make up his mind about the update, neither can I.

I was just watching Bob run at Suzuka 1000km... He's rolling the X2010 and driving it like a madman.

Certainly more aggressive then he was before and the other AI drivers seem to be smarter about moving off the driving line when he comes up from behind.

Although in the few minutes I watched, Bob slammed the unlucky few that didn't move out of the way. Until today I had never seen Bob rear-end another car with enough force to make the victim go airborne.

I don't thing this is restricted to B-Spec, I just ran the FGT championship in A-Spec and almost every AI driver spun out on the last chicane on every lap at the Nurburg race.

So does this mean I can finally beat the B-Spec NASCAR events at Grand Valley and Daytona?

I'm definitely going to try when I get home tonight.

no, still thick as s***. i got gold in all the nascar events with bob when he was 2 or 3 levels below what he is now, was crashing into walls at indy, thought grand valley was a drift circuit, dont even ask about daytona. I've always hated nascar in this game and it just makes me wonder how they havn't even seemed to try and get rid of this kind of behaviour. as i write this bob has been bashing into an xj220 lm for 1 lap now around indy, he is in an fgt :| seriously annoyed how he seems to have had a lobotomy after the update.

EDIT: he just span at indy, was under no pressure, hes as cool as a cucumber. whats happened to him? he is at level 24!!

I had a weird experience today. I started a B-spec endurance 500 miles of Indianapolis, in a Formula GT. I saw it just as Bob-training. So I recruited three brand new bobs (didn't never do a race before and took as 4th driver a 26-level Bob, recruited before the 1.06 upgrade.

Do you now what happened: the old 26 level Bob is even not faster than the LM prototype cars but the new unexperienced Bobs go about 4 seconds faster then the 26-level Bob.

Does anyone understand the logic of this

No change from mine. He has always been pretty good at overtaking when asked.

However, I am worried he killed an AI driver at TGTT last night! He T-boned a Lotus Elan at the crossover so hard it went diagonally across the screen and I never saw it again! The man knows no fear!!!

(Do replays stand up as evidence in court?) 💡

I got 3 bobs, one that is in between, one cold and one hot. I feel like my hotter one is doing a much better job in the Historical Race cup event but the bobs still seems to be dumb as wood.

Extreme Series > Super GT (Level 22) with a X2010:

Fuji Speedway (30 laps):

At lap ~24 Bob enters the pit to change the tyres but he doesn`t refill although the tank is nearly empty.

One lap later he enters the pit again to refill!

Tokyo R246 (30 laps):

At lap ~24 Bob enters the pit to change the tyres but he doesn`t refill although the tank is red.

Shortly after leaving the pit he crawls along the track at 79 kph just to enter the pit again to refill! :dunce:

I had to do the races twice and it happened again.

Can`t tell about Suzuka because I didn`t saw it.

Now I`m doing this series with my US account and I bet it`s happening again.

Edit:

Just saw it. At Suzuka it works.

This has been happening before 1.06. The reason is that the newbie Bobs don't slow down around corners. This is bad for all tracks *except* for Indianapolis. I setup a Corvette ZR1 RM so that it could go around the Indy without lifting off the throttle but my level 30 Bob kept stabbing the brakes before entering every turn. When I put a level 0 Bob in that Corvette, he just blasted around Indianapolis like a madman!

I have 6 lvl 40 Bobs and they all drove pretty good for the most part but all suffered from timidity in passing slower traffic etc. After this latest patch they are all THUGS. Do NOT get in there way LOL. I can confirm the death of several AI drivers that got punted off track by a massive buttkick from an X1 at 250mph never to be seen again. They are passing cars in turns now too. For the most part an improvement PD. Thanks but it's still not quite right.....yet.

While they are more aggressive and pass slower traffic with a new ruthless aggressive determination they do relapse to the buttkicks from time to time eventhough they have room on all sides.

One reason that I've seen for this from since the shipped prepatched game is that PD programmed all AI to veer into your path for absolutely no reason. I guess it's there cheap way of adding personality and a bit difficulty to the AI drivers. I wish they would remove those cheap tricks and just add a AI difficulty slider to make them drive the car to it's potential. Everytime you or your Bob approaches them they will try to hinder your progress mostly on straights. In RL a driver doing this would be Black Flagged.

I agree completely. I originally noticed this during the licenses where we can't as much as breathe on an AI car but they are allowed to side swipe, carve you up or drive you onto the grass at will. This becomes particularly frustrating when you're pulling off a good out-brake and overtake move holding the driving line and they suddenly slam into the side of you, a move that would get them a time penalty or disqualified IRL.

Bah! :grumpy:

LOL My lvl 35 Bob does this often!

Not really
Just been on daytona NASCAR running in 3rd on lap 19. Came out of the last corner and told him to maintain pace so that I could get him to overtake after turn 1.
Bob decides to ignore me and hits the brakes going over the start line, letting 5 cars through. I tell him to overtake, and, guess what, he brakes again on the back straight, letting everyone else through and finishing last.
Nothing on b-spec seems to make any sense to me. We don't even get any instruction on how it works, so just sit there hitting buttons hoping that the retard will do something useful

LMAO. Mine have a habit of spinning out at Indy in the X1.
