Anyone see Techno Files last night?

It was on 2/26/03. The whole show was about supercars and racing. They featured Porche, Lotus, Aston Martin, and maybe more because I started it late.

But I'm wondering if anyone knows about this race they featured that I had never heard of. It looked like it was run in the desert southwest, on public roads, with amateur drivers. The run was around 60 miles on the highway. They do it in 20 minutes or so. Average speed 195 mph. Fastest time wins. I saw a lot of Corvettes and Porches. A Vette won.

But anyway does anyone know anything about it?

i know of a race in Texas. they close down a stretch of highway, and let cars run through the course, one by one. it's a race against the clock; fastest time wins.

i'm pretty sure anyone can compete, providing they pay the entrance fee, and their car meets specific safety standards (cage, and racing harness i believe).
