Anyone used the Fanatec wheel NOT in 900 degree mode?

Im curious about the option to reduce the steering degree to either 360 or 180 in the fanatec wheel, does this work with the GT5 time trial and prologue?

One of my biggest annoyances is the DFGT fights you when going to oversteer instead of helping like a real car does, and I just dont have hands fast enough to counter with a full turn of oposite lock which might not even be enough.

With the sixaxxis I can catch 99% of slides, even crazy ones requiring full oposite lock, but Im nowhere near as smooth therefore I have slow times.

If I could reduce the steering degree I can be smooth with it AND catch the crazy slides.

Anyone done this? Say no and you save me money, say yes and you force me to buy a nice fanatec GT3 RS wheel...

Yes...

I can't speak for the 911 GT3-RS, but I do own the 911 Turbo S. It locks to 210, 360, 540, and 900. I have used 900, and 360 thus far. Great for rally games, and arcade racing titles.

If you plan on playing mostly console titles, I would suggest the Turbo/Turbo S over the GT3-RS.

Problem is with game's FFB, not your wheel. I have explainned issues more clearly in physics thread. Mayby PD uses standard immersion FFB technology which does not allow realistic oversteer FFB. Someone could ask immersion have PD done something wrong or is their system not acting like it should. Many users feel that FFB in oversteer and understeer does not feel realistic in GT5 Demo.

Completely agree. Im not able to drift anywhere near like what I can do with an actual car. I consider catching big slides pure luck in this game (for myself) where with an actual car I can catch anything I want.

Thanks for the advice on the Turbo S vs the RS. Is there any difference besides how it looks? also it works with the pedals provided by logitec no?

You can buy an adapter that will allow you to use G25 pedals with either the GT3-RS or the Turbo S... and yes, they look very different:
