Are the DLC R32 & R33 TC's based on their GT500 counterparts?

Hey guys, just wanted to share a quick tidbit I've found with you guys. If you look at the R33 and the R32 TC's from the DLC, you will notice that they are pretty much exact models of their GT500 counterparts back in the day. I did not look at the R35 GT-R nor R34 but I assume the same for them as well. If this is the case, and I believe it is by watching old footage on Youtube (models replicate those from the early 90's), I think I've found a bug in the tuning. Comparing the R32 and R35 to the Calsonic R32 and other GT500 cars, the springs are off on the DLC's (much softer and wider range) and the ride height only goes down to 0 for some reason. The available downforce is also lower on the DLC cars, which is odd seeing that the R32 TC's body kit seems to actually create the same or more downforce than the Calsonic.

Again, I came to this assumption by looking at actual footage from the JGTC from back in the time period. The first link is from the first half of 1994 and if you compare the bodies on the R32 TC to the ones in the video, they are almost exactly alike. The same is the case for the R35

Like I said, I wanted to share this with you guys to see what you all think. If my assumption is correct, I may have found a bug in the setups for the DLC cars, or at least the two Skylines I mentioned. If they are infact based upon the GT500 cars from the era, they should have stiffer springs, a lower ride height and more downforce. I'd also be willing to pay for Zexel, Calsonic and Unisia JECS liveries for these cars as well to be honest in a future DLC. I would love to see some older stuff from the JGTC in the game like there was in GT2

Thoughts?

Yes, we had a thread awhile back describing the real life counterparts.

The R35 I do believe is not matched to other GT500 cars. Notice the body style. It's probably more aimed for a FIA GT1 model.

With all the tuning things your talking about, I have no idea about that stuff. :)

Yeah, I can understand where you're coming from with the R35 but it's weird because with all of the TC's from the DLC that I've driven, the ride height is only set for 0 at the minimum and the downforce is far too low. At least for the ones I've driven, that is. I didn't know if anyone spotted this or not but I wanted to share it with you guys and see what you think. By the way, do you have a link to that thread?

The R35 and R34 both aren't GT500 cars. The R35 looks a bit like the GT1 or GT3 machine (not fully though) and the R34 is completely fictional.

EDIT: The other two GT-Rs also aren't real counterparts, the looks are definitely similar and inspired by the JGTC cars, but that's where the similarities end.

Here you go.

Well if you say that Ace, I was really hoping that maybe they were indeed retro JGTC machines. It's just really ironic that they replicate their GT500 counterparts though. The R34 isn't a GT500 I can tell and neither is the R35 but the R33 & R32 really to look the same. Was hoping that it was a bug. But even so, why did Poliphony decide to have the cars run so high with relatively low downforce? That just seems like a bug to me. But still, I'm pretty convinced that these are JGTC replicas. The similarities are just too glaring to deny. The models are spot on and I can only assume that Poliphony messed up the physics for the DLC cars. Looking at the specs and race footage, it all falls into place
