Answers:

Mostly a): Congratulations, you are officially a GT nerd. Have you tried playing blindfolded, or with the TV upside down? You may know what LSD initial torque does, but still challenges await...

Mostly b): You are but a mere mortal, unworthy of the wisdom found in these web pages and beyond. You probably haven't even done any of the "extreme events" yet.

Mostly c): Oh! Go play Need For Speed or Hot Wheels or something you amateur.

Seconded, many of those c answers were absolutely hilarious!

This one was my favourit: "c) ...coming over later with her twin sister, a bottle of baby oil, and Twister." Bwahahaha 👍

I might even give you +Rep on your first post, you certainly made my day 👍

Yes, mostly a but on some questions, I've answered b (1/6th of the questions or something) 👍

Hey there,

I am looking to buy my first hybrid car, but have really no idea about where to go for the best infromation. Frankly, the more general the information, the better - as I really have no clue what I'm doing! The only resource on hybrids and other fuel-efficient cars that I've found that is as general as I would like is http://fuelfriendlycars.com but I would like some other hybrid car resources as well. Any suggestions? Thanks -

Ronny

I was As and Bs, but a lot of th equestions I would have answered in between.
I wouldn't beat myself with a stick if I had a faster car, but I would probably change it. I'm between A and B.

Excellent post, more +rep!

Hmm, A's and B's here. Interesting how my answer might be A or B (and in one case, C) depending on my mood.

1) Understanding LSD is...

a) ...essential to fine-tuning the dynamics of your car.
b) ...all a bit tricky.
c) ...key to not having a bad trip.

Answers A and B are correct. Nobody in their right mind should even attempt trying to avoid a trip gone bad! The whole point of LSD trips is to get into another reality, dood.

2) The handbrake is...

a) ...only useful in very few circumstances
b) ...fun, when you are way in the lead or losing really badly
c) ...the way Real Men turn corners.

...a great way to slide across the finish line like a rabies-infected racoon.

3) Bumping the other computer-controlled cars off the road is...

a) ...completely unethical
b) ...fun
c) ...my main objective when playing

a. Completely unethical.

4) My girlfriend is...

a) ...wait, what girlfriend?
b) ...a bit tired of me playing Gran Turismo
c) ...coming over later with her twin sister, a bottle of baby oil, and Twister.

My answer would be B. I wish it was C. :guilty:

5) I play Gran Turismo...

a) ...in my specially built GT nuclear bomb-shelter, with steering wheel, 52-inch plasma TV and walls covered with car tuning info.
b) ...when there is no-one else around and I have nothing important to do
c) ...inbetween beers, joints and judging bikini competitions.

c for me. I don't have the fortune of judging bikini competitions, I just 'pretend' sometimes,.

6) Nurburgring is...

a) ...my substitute for porn.
b) ...a pain in the ass.
c) ...that transvestite nazi guy.

ass porn with a transvestite nazi guy.

7) A race with 100 A-spec points makes me feel...

a) ...bored and unchallenged.
b) ...like I should change my car for a better one.
c) ...like I might lose, but I'm not sure why.

The A-spec system is flawed in my opinion, so I never pay attention to it. Guess I'm a super-geek anyways.

8) The "Test Track" is...

a) ...a unique opportunity to experiment with extreme gear configurations and camber settings - plus a chance to clearly see slipstream at work.
b) ...boring but sometimes necessary.
c) ...that one that's oval shaped?

9) A "good race" is one in which I...

a) ...prove to myself that I have accurately inferred my car's dynamics and have acted accordingly in tuning it - plus, hopefully, where I shave a few milliseconds from my lap times.
b) ...win.
c) ...crash into a lot of other cars and get a good replay.

A and B.

10) On obtaining a new car, I...

a) ...go on the internet and start checking tuning configurations, before opening a forum post about it. I then do 50 laps of Nurburgring and then begin the arduous process of altering every option on the tuning settings by 0.1 point until it is of optimum performance and perfectly suited to my driving style.
b) ...lower the ride height a bit, harden the springs, buy a turbo and race it.
c) ...sell it if it sucks or keep it if it is good.

lord, we'd be here all day if I were to answer this one....

11) The fundamental difference between FF and FR cars is...

a) ...the way the weight shifting and power dynamics affect the handling of the vehicle.
b) ...that FF cars suck and FR cars don't.
c) ...what's an FF car?

12) A "gold" on the licenses, for me, is...

a) ...the only thing I can live with.
b) ...a rare beast indeed.
c) ...no..I would say the trophies are more bronze coloured.

Seriously, I can't tell the difference between gold & bronze trophies. They both look the same in GT4 from my TV screen. Maybe I should stop playing with LSD.

13) Changing gear ratios is...

a) ...something which conscientious players do with every car for every race.
b) ...sometimes necessary, I guess...
c) ...what I did once to win that oval-shaped thingy.

I try and play with gear ratios as little as possible.

14) The replay feature...

a) ...is key for me to view my driving style from an external perspective, helping me to improve on many aspects of my cornering and general driving ability.
b) ...got boring after GT1.
c) ...is a good chance to cool car crashes a second time.

A and C! Why watch a boring replay?

15) The lack of car-damage in GT4...

a) ...infuriates me.
b) ...is useful.
c) ...is a shame - it would be cool to see the cars blow up.

A and C. I play Grand Theft Auto specifically cuz I don't get the damage I expect from Gran Turismo. 💡 I barely did any of the missions in GTA; instead I just run around jacking cars and wrecking them.

16) If I could add/change one thing to/about GT4, it would be...

a) ...car damage, better AI, more makes of car, more real-world tracks, more Nurburgring endurance races, no 5-second delay rule on the rally races, etc....
b) ...whatever. I'm happy with it as it is...
c) ...to make it so that you could shoot at other cars. Oh, and drop mines.

A. Like I said I prefer GTA when I'm blowing stuff up. Who needs carnage on an actual race track?

17) If the car's tyres are showing as bright red, it means that...

a) ...I am not playing. I would never be in that situation.
b) ...it's probably time to have a pit-stop. Unless it's almost the end.
c) ...you guys are dumb. Tyres are black.

C! :dunce:

18) Compared to the Need For Speed series, Gran Turismo is...

a) ...not only a different game, but a different genre. Far superior in every aspect.
b) ...a bit pretentious. But, ultimately, more serious, and with more depth and gameplay.
c) ...boring.

A and B.

19) If it becomes clear within the first few seconds of a race that I am going to win easily, then I...

a) ...exit and downgrade my car, while beating myself savagely with a stick.
b/c) ...breath a sigh of relief and keep going, attempting where possible to do handbrake turns.

A A A! although I prefer beating myself with a fraternity paddle

20) On lapping a car, I...

a) ...take care to graciously pass him where appropriate, giving him a gentlemanly nod, as it were, as I still respect him as a participant in the race.
b) ...ram into the back of it, laughing all the way.
c) ...sorry what? I never lap cars.

I say so long, suckah..

21) Using the manual gearbox is...

a) ...the only way to truly control your vehicle.
b) ...a bit hard.
c) ...pointless.

for real drivers who try to avoid bad trips on LSD.

I always suspected most hardcore fans of GT and of all qualiity driving games were type 'A' personalities. ;)

Although I also suspect many of us like to sneak out at night and play the role of a type 'C' character from time to time. :D

Hahaha! Really fun read!

Nerd? Well, the line between being passionate and being a nerd is very thin indeed...

Hah, I don't have a job, so I just play GT4 day in-day out.
Probably for th rest of my summer:sly:

Ahh, the good ole days...
Sleep late after a 36 hour gt3 stint. Being all 'grown up' sucks. :grumpy:

But hey, that's what days off are for. 👍
