I'm not sure. I'm confused on this Premium/Classic thing and if I only get 20 cars to start and have to pay for the rest then screw that. I'm not much a video gamer anyway, but I have always loved GT. I had planned on getting the PS3 just for GT5 but now I don't know. We will see I guess.

Yes i will, just like getting a PS1 for GT and a PS2 for GT3.

GT is the only reason why I have a PS2. In all seriousness, I have less than 10 PS2 titles. Never owned a PS1.

Call me a retard or fanboy (Dont forget I owned PGR3 and a Xbox 360 for about a month and half.) but GTHD sucked at E3 2006 this year and I planned to hold off then I heard about Ferrari! Made me think and now I want a PS3 at launch. (I already planned on getting one at launch long before) But this just makes me want it now. So I guess I can say yes?

-> Well I'm still 50/50 on getting the PS3 at launch, but I've learned my lesson from PS2 for waiting for over a month getting it. But GTHD to me is so tempting, it make me wanna feel like "BUY IT NAW!!!!" kind of thing, but maybe waiting for GT5 is more worth it, I think.

I wanted to get Virtua Fighter for the Sega Saturn, 20 games later I'm playing I'm playing Command & Conquer. With the PS1, I wanted only to play Final Fantasy VII . . . 20 games later . . . you get my drift.

Maaaybe. There's no other games I'm interested in on the PS3. If GT:HD turns out to be all that and more, then maybe.
I'm just going to wait for GT5, then I'll buy a PS3.

I won't be getting a PS3 just because of GT5, after all, it is only just GT4 with on-line, and a GT5 Demo, not much in the way of a "wow, must buy that" factor. I'm actully more interested in the next Metal Gear Solid.. lol!

I dont know yet... but id say im 70% sure ill get the PS3 when GTHD comes out. The online is tempting, very tempting, and I wouldnt have to buy one when GT5 comes out. While waiting for GT5 would save me 200-300 dollars, I think playing GT online and driving Ferrari's in HD for those 2 years until GT5 comes might be worth that money. Plus I could get the next MGS.
Like some people here, GT is one the only video game I play (atleast 90% of the time ive played PS and PS2 was a GT title, id say, the rest going to MGS3 and a few other games), so It may be hard justifying the high price for 1 game series. But I did buy a PS2 for GT3, DFP and component cables for GT4, and GT1 has set up shop in my PS, so Im probably insane enough to do it.

At this point the PS3 is just slacking off - Some mistakes were made in the main CPU design, for example. No DS because the put some kind of gyro in the controller, which won't be used by 99% of the games coming out. No actual improvement over previous game consoles except in graphics, and not even that much - and that's where GT:HD comes in.
At this stage, HD looks to be GT4 with a HD resolution option, and nothing else. Even if it gets an online mode i'll be hardpressed to buy a PS3 just to play 1 game - it *is* 600 bucks we're talking about, along the already higher cost of games for it.
I'll wait for GT5 (and Tekken 7) before i'll get a PS3 probably, there's no real reason to get one over the PS2 at this point - there's simply not enough new stuff to justify the cost, especially when looking at the state of my (now empty due to that icon below my name) bank account.

I'll definitely get a PS3...but I will wait until AFTER GTHD comes out to pull trigger.
OT: Not been able to confirm this as of yet but has anyone heard if the PS3 will be backwards compatible? I'm assuming it will be..actually I'm hoping it is just so I can see how good GT4 will look..but if not, then no biggie...

Maybe, but my Gamestop informant said that their preorders at their stores sold out within 20 minutes of opening the other day.
I might wait until the PS3's price drops to less than $200, and then buy it. My decision to purchase GT5 will then be decided on whether or not the physics are any good (EBGames demo console and/or rental can tell me that), although the PS3 will likely have other games I'll want (Ace Combat 6, Ridge Racer 7, etc...).
