So i decided to record today's attempts, they are all against the #1 US time which was LetCanadaIn, there's plenty of restarts but at around 7:05 i run 5 or 6 clean laps, also 29:17 was looking to be my best lap yet...maybe a high 1:31 but i clipped the last set of cones :ouch: Any tips that could help my current driving?

ps. the second to last turn is always disastrous for me, can't seem to find the proper brake/turn-in points

Your pretty close to nailing it, your driving lines will actually help me improve my time a bit later as iv not viewed any replays yet, I was actually in 2nd gear for the last 2 bends when I should be in 3rd by the look of it

Your lines are pretty good, what you need to work on is hitting all the apexes and getting the power down as early as you can. Also try and rotate the car by sliding it into the corner, you should be able to achieve this by trail braking. This is particularly important for the last two corners.

What is trail braking out of interest?

Getting the car to step out under braking which aids turn-in in certain circumstances, achieved by modulating the brake whilst turning into the corner. It takes a bit of practice but you'll know when your doing it ;)

Basically just, braking as you are turning but as you turn more into the corner you have to lift off the brake more and more so you don't cause the tyre to slide

I'm at a 1:32.044 atm, i would probably be even faster if i could perfect the last 2 corners and the first chicane. Also first gear would be faster in 2nd gear, and perhaps the last 2 corners as well.

Oh so I have actually been doing this without knowing it haha. Cheers for the info! May have to follow your ghost bandit!

I need to improve my time a bit first, I think you can only download the ghost for the top 10 on each leaderboard

i've been getting a little better at this i think, especially into the hairpin before the bridge, i downshift to 4th, then 3rd while turning in, then just before the apex into 2nd, then i lift off the brakes which causes the car to rotate, is that lift-off oversteer or trail braking? the last two corners are still giving me trouble though, i can't seem to find the proper braking points to hit the apex correctly.

Turn 1, 6 and the last 2 turns (i.e. all the tight ones) it's best to shift down to 2nd on the entry and shortshift to 3rd as you begin to accelerate (Except for the final turn, you need to stay in second a little longer as it's tighter, so shortshifting too early will slow you down). For the second to last turn especially, I find it's extremely difficult to stay in 3rd, and you also need to brake a little earlier than you expect or you'll run wide.

Your lines are good. You're perhaps braking a little much for the second turn in the S-bend on the back of the circuit, but that may just be your driving style, i'm not sure if it has any effect of time (ordinarily I turn in early and coast into it but I might get on the power a fraction later, it's a trade-off)

The best advice I can give is to practice a lot. Sometimes that perfect lap just comes out of nowhere. I haven't found mine yet, i'm still hovering in the mid-1'32s because I keep making small mistakes, costing me precious tenths here and there.

I am no expert, but on the second to last turn, brake a little earlier and make sure you really get the turn in. While chasing the first place guy, I passed him their, before breaking to late on the last turn (WAY to late) and plwed into the grass and got DQ'd.

I probably would have jumped out the window.

Man I can run either 33.2s or 32.9s like their on sale at the fast lap store. I get the 32.9s one time, next time I try its 33.2s the whole time. I just can not get it together. I see what the the leaders are doing, I feel like I am doing the same thing. Turn two is killing me the most, robbing my turn three. and not letting me stand on it thru turn 5 on to that straight.

right now i'm just waiting on that magic lap, sometimes i'm ahead of the leader's ghost through the S's then i'll screw up then second half, never fails.

great to see you 1.31s guys are not gods or ailens has they say in the real motorsport world, make the same mistakes has most people. how the hell you can drive with no tc i dont know the cars all over the shop, i tried tc on 3 or 4 and it feels the same has 6 and 7 who ever programmed this game had no idea on how these things work but great vid thanks hopefully it will help :)
