Ari Vatenen on Pikes Peak

OK, this might get moved to the World Rally thread but seeing as its probably not the hottest forum in GTPlanet then I'll stick it here.

Then take a look at the second file down.

The following is some of the most amazing video footage ever. Ari Vatanen takes on Pikes Peak in a Peugeot. (405 I think). I've met Ari a couple of times (once when he was nose down in a ditch in the middle of Wales in his Scoobie Wrx) and he reckons this to be one of the most powerful and fun cars he's driven.

It'll take quite a while to download but its something I'm sure that you'll wanna save to hardrive.

By the way, just watch him take his hands off the wheel to shield his eyes from the sun, whilst doing 110mph sideways. 😈

The guy is a genius man..........

Have you seen any videos of Ray Millen? Another maniac driver who has won Pikes Peak a few times in his 1000bhp+ Toyota?

I thought his name was Ron or Rod, the guy that went of the hill in a Tocoma? Isnt Ray his son's name (drove a lancer this year up the peak)

Pretty sure it's Rod Millen - had a nice little line in turbo conversion kits for the original MX5.

You used to be able to buy the video of Ari Vatanen in the 405 from Peugeot - they may still have stock.

I have a great video at home from Renault on their '92 championship with Mansell.

There's a fantastic sequence with a Reggie V10 being dyno testsed. The engineer is actually driving the engine as if it was on a circuit (can't remember which), and they actually have microphones in the dyno cell. The sound is :burnout: AMAZING :burnout: - had it on a phone message for a while (long story)
