What do these arrows mean? I currently have a level 7 "cool" driver, and there is a orange down-sloped arrow next to his helmet in the driver selection menu. I had recently created a "hot" driver, and there is a green horizontal arrow next to his. Are these the drivers' current conditions?

Your expertise is appreciated.

Wanting to know this also. My cool lvl 6 driver has the orange down sloped arrow, and lvl 1 hot driver (not that far into hot) has green horizontal also.

I'm pretty certain it gauges a driver's fatigue level. I've noticed it drop to an orange state for a couple of my drivers after they finished races where they completely drained both their strength and mental strength. If you spend a little while using other drivers or driving yourself you should see that fatigued racer's status improve to green and then gradually to blue.

Like Tsouki, I originally thought it was a reflection of driver confidence but then noticed that stringing together a few wins did absolutely nothing for an orange status driver.

"indicates whether the driver is in good or bad form," says the in-game manual.

It's definitely fatigue status. I used driver # 1 for 20 races in a row and the orange arrow appear, I let him rest for 2 races and it turn back to green.

i love that pd put this into the game..

really makes you have to think and plan ahead.

my current no. 1 driver is orange and im going to be training up no.2 tonight.

At what level do you get to choose a 2nd driver?

(Sorry for hijacking your thread OP)

NP :)

And thanks for all the informative answers. Another thing I noticed: if you give your driver a ridiculously fast car (a Veyron, in my case) which will easily enable him to win the race and tell him to pace down constantly, he could keep on racing every turn and still have the green arrow next to the helmet.

Game manual? I am pretty sure that games only come with hint books these days. As they tend to hint at how the game works. Luckily PD was kind enough to include the in game manual (indicated by the yellow question mark icon within the game) which gives a few more hints that the ink and paper manual could offer.

These go up and down on their on, regardless of wether they drive well or not, or even drive at all. I guess they are more like morale than fatigue.

I've got 4 drivers all at level 15 or 16, They don't get too fatigued after one race, unless it's around 15 laps or more and their strength runs out.
