Would it be weird to order a cheap ps1 and gt2 just because I lost my old games eons ago and I miss driving on old tracks like redrock valley etc , because gt5 etc hasn't given us such classic stuff?

Just to bring back old memories and to have it around...would any of you guys pull this move?

That's completely normal, I've bought a GT1 copy about 2 months ago... :D

Just looked it up, ps1 online $21 buck, gt2 from the same site $2.99.

$24 buck just to buy back years of memories. I'm 27 years old now, last time I played gt2 I was in junior high School.........wow

Its not weird at all, I just had to replace almost my whole collection due to wore out discs and ridiculous amounts of scratches (I used to not take care of my things)

I don't think that's odd at all.

I have a Greatest Hits version of GT2 and a PS2 to play it with. I break it out occasionally and usually enjoy it. The car list is massive, yet well balanced, with even the numerous JDM near-duplicates and slow cars managing to be more interesting than the ones in GT4 & 5 (several RWD Skylines and at least one Skyline sedan are among the highlights). Also included were several then-recent concept cars that seem to have fallen by the wayside since then. The Racing Modification feature was also at its best (or close to it, I've never played GT1) in GT2. The track list is classic.

I played GT2 a while back and I found it difficult to enjoy.
The graphics and physics especially had not aged well.
The game itself is my favourite GT with it's wide variety of cars and tracks though.

Not at all strange. In fact, I've recently started hunting down my old PS1 favorites (among those GT2) and I straight-away bought GT1 on a flea market some time ago (only 100 dkr, or about 18 USD with current rate, as good as new really 👍 )

Completely normal. I still have all my GT games & the consoles. I recently played GT1 & 2 on my PS3 in Hi-Def, but the graphics do not look very good after 15 years. :)

Thanks for the support guys. I don't care much for the graphics though.

Things like certain tracks and certain cars is what I miss.

The 2 hill climb cars was always fun. I used to call them brother and sister lol lol.

How do those with PS one's cope with today's flat screen tv's? Does it display ok? I know my PS2 looked better when I had an old CRT monitor.

Not sure how it would cope, maybe normal. I run my ps3 through hdmi cord. Not sure if ps1 had that feature but I do have the color outlets too.

I actually rue selling all my old computers/consoles when i was younger, and im actually in the processs of re buying all the old classics consoles + fav games.
There is a huge retro scene in gaming your definatly not alone.

You should be able to play GT1 and GT2 on your PS3, I know I still pull out GT2 occasionally and play on mine. I keep all the old systems, though it has been a while since I pulled one out ( 👎 and shame on me) .. I kept Sega Genesis to play Sonic (duh) and vectorman. And the N64 to pull out Clayfighter and MarioKart! The classics may not be as nice as the new game (graphics/framerate/etc.) but the do bring back memories! I was taking a look at this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coleco-Vision-Lot-Console-Power-cord-2-Controllers-Expansion-Modules-6-Games-/221288132044?pt=Video_Games&hash=item3385ccedcc But it's sketchy being "untested" .. I find that usually means they tested it, it didn't work, then they keep the corde so it looks like they didn't have the cord to begin with.. But I'm throwing a bid on it just to keep my hopes up!

It's good to play an old game for PS1. I wouldn't say it's weird. In fact, I still play some of them on my PSP.

Man you went back in the day with those systems.

The fact that the guy on eBay has a 100% rep and that the bid is so low would be worth the look at to me.

I hear a lot of gamers reviews say the gt2 may not work on ps3 because of some backwards capability thing. I don't mind an old ps1 for 20 bucks but if I can get it on ps3 I'd go with just that.

Looks like you helped yourself, too. Fair enough.

I thought playing GT4 brought back memories... I don't even know what GT1 would be like. Wow, the last time I saw that game was eons ago. How crazy. I remember thinking it was the most amazing game I'd ever seen. I remember playing for hours and hours until my parents made me stop and go play outside.

I don't know why but I never got rid of playing GT5, despite the complaints. I would say those shortcomings but it doesn't stop me from playing it.
