ASL vs ?- Suggestions please.

My wife is fond of the ASL racecar and we often race against each other on Nurburgring with me taking one of my road cars(usually the s2000 gt1).
Usually, we're quite a close match, however she has now bought one in gt mode and slapped a stage4 turbo on it. At standard it has almost 400Hp and taps out at 240km/h, now its producing almost 500hp and has been tweaked to tap out at around 300km/h.

My question to everyone is, what road car will be able to compete against this little ASL beast.
The gt1 just doesnt pack enough power anymore and I'll have to find something that can beat it.

The S2000 GT-1 has 500bhp standard and 550bhp tuned, that should be quite the match round the ring which is a relatively high speed track. The ASL will be producing more downforce so it will likely take certain corners faster, but the S2000 GT-1 is one hell of a car and has more in common with a GT racer than a road car.

Last time I checked the Pescarolo was firmly in the not-a-road-car category. You could of at least advised him to use a rally car, which are actually road legal race cars (bit of a cross over there eh;)). I don't think his intention is to decimate the ASL either, rather than to have a close race car v road car battle with his wife.

oh, i misread it :dunce: . i gotta stop doing that.
road car id have to say the amuse S2000 GT1

Due to its light weight, maybe you could try a fully blown Elise, if you are up to the challenge of keeping it on the track...:mischievous:

Or, you could always match her car.

Perhaps the normal ASL? It weighs a lot less than the JGTC car, and with an aftermarket spoiler it may be able to provide a very competent competitor to the ASL GT300 car.

Going with LFS's post, I say use a rally car, something crazy... something bizzare... something twincharged... The Lancia Delta S4, yes that is pushing it road car wise, but it was street legal (as bizzare as that sounds ). Just change the gearing for a little more top end, and you're good to go. 👍

What times are you running around the Ring with the ASL?

A fully modded Supra with SS tires without any power upgrades may be a huge challenge, I did under 7'40 on the Ring with it (without wing!) but I don't know what your times are.

Try a TommyKaira ZZII

The best suggestion so far is Ultrashot's Tommykaira ZZ-II, that's right-on for what you want. Just fit it with some racing medium tyres to get rid of the slight stock understeer, and fit an aftermarket wing, and you should have no trouble :)
It's not even hard to drive at the Nordschleife, what with ATTESA-ETS 4WD system and SUPER-HICAS rear-wheel-steering.

EDIT - And I totally failed to remember I was reading an old, buried thread. Damn. Sorry guys, first time I've ever done that :embarrassed:

A fully blown Elise would be my first pick. If that fails, maybe a fully tuned MR2 Turbo (SW). Both would be a handful on the track though, as they are very prone to sliding out.

Also, a tuned RX-7 Spirit Type R would be a good pick. Car has an insane amount of grip stock, and when I did time trails with it at Opera against a large range of cars, it was ahead about 1 second on S2 tires. This pack included an Elise 111R, R34 Skylne, NSX Type S, S2000 Type V (or whatever it is), an M coupe, and so on. Its just not right how fast that thing is, the RX-7.

And the RX-7 would be alot easier to drive than the MR cars I suggested.

May I recommend a BMW CSL? It can be tuned to insane hp numbers and with lots of grip to spare.

No, the Escodu doesn't fit it at all.

I say that you use that early 90s Mercedes Touring car (I forgot how to win it), and you tweak it, with a little adjustments, it will hit 500, as it has 400 stock. THat outta give it a close match.

Please try and keep the thread I accidentally resurrected (I wish I hadn't) vaguely on-topic.

blackdeath88012, please use grammar, spelling and punctuation to the best of your ability - you clearly are not, and this violates the AUP

Once again, the thread starter wanted a road car...

Well, like I said, the early 90s Mercedes Touring car. As far as I know, you win it in teh European hall. It is probably the best you can do against the ASL race car.

he wants a ROAD car, to the best of my knowledge a touring car isn't a road car.

Oh, a ROAD car? Then easy, Jaguar XJ220, or the Ford GT with a stage 1 or two N/A tune. But for the GT, gotta make sure that he gets used to it's handling, where it likes to drift around the turns.

Toyota GT-One Road Car would do it. As long as that's considered a road car. I think it does since it has "road" followed by "car" in it's title. But that's up for debate...

Dark Elite: Sorry about that, is this better?

The content isn't great (Toronado beat me to correcting that one) but the presentation is much better, try and keep it that way.

But for the love of God, can people please read the first post properly! It's not that hard... :indiff:

Has anyone done any testing against the Tommykaira ZZ-II, or indeed the ASL itself?

The ASL has 295 HP, those way over.

He just said that it is the RACE car, and his wife slapped a turbo on it, boosting it to over 500 HP. So those cars are fitting competition.
