Assassins Nitro HPI RS4 Evo 3 RTR
I'm dedicating this thread to the Tuning & Modifying of My Nitro Powered R/C Car. This is a great Hobby for the Car Junkies as it let's you do many of the same tuning just in small scale, at a fraction of the cost. You will see many familiar terms in the R/C tuning world, camber, toe, ride height, etc. GT5 is digital scale, while Nitro R/C is small scale.
I also have full size car I use for 1/4 mile racing (MKII GTi VR6 swapped), but when pushing hard at the Track, things break often & parts are not cheap (unless you drive a Civic) R/C racing is much easier on the pocketbook & fills the Gap when the car is on down time.
My car started as a Base model HPI RS4 Evo 3 RTR Kit. This is a great starter kit, loaded with features & many upgradeable parts. It's not too expensive, around $350-$400 bucks. It comes standard with AWD, 2speed gearing, disk brake, & a .15 HPI Engine. You can opt for the .18ss or .18ss-plus kits alternatively. The difference being the engines. The .18ss has a normal RPM with a higher displacement of .18. The .18ss-plus has the same .18 displacement but revs higher to 5200rpm."
What I have started as the Base model with the .15 Engine.
Modification List
Lightweight Chassis
Heat-sync Engine Mounts
.18ss-plus Engine Swap
Performance Exhaust
Rear Exit Exhaust Pipe
High Torque Low gear/High speed Top Gear
Full aluminum suspension upgrade
Adjustable Toe link
Carbon fiber top plates
Adjustable Shocks
3 Sway Bar Sets
Progressive Springs
1 piece dogbone axels
Disk Brake upgrade
I'll be posting as I work on it, Tune it and put it in action. I'm attempting to join a Racing Group in Montreal, if you know of any, post them up. If you have a bad ass R/C, post it up we can chat about Tuning them.
