Assetto Corsa 1.0 is now available for download on Steam:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/244210

Version 1.0 signifies not just the long-term achievement but also a new start. The hugely successful Early Access program is now complete thanks to the contribution of hundreds of thousands of gamers. If you have joined the Early Access program, we are pleased to announce that version 1.0 is available for you as free upgrade.

With the completion of our version 1.0 milestone, Assetto Corsa is now leaving Early Access status, and is available from Steam right now:

Just downloading it now...can't wait to try it out.

EDIT: I just realized the update to 1.0 was free. I was expecting I'd have to pay for it. That means I paid $23 if memory serves for the full game. What a bonus!!!

That's not the first time this week that I've seen this confusion about paying for Early Access and the Full Product, as far as I was aware, in Early Access you are paying upfront for the product before it is released, like a pre-order, but you are given the opportunity to play the game in it's early builds while it's being developed.

Great thing about it is that it's usually cheaper than what the full product is.

Anyway, as for v1.0, I'm experiencing a few bugs. Some of the thumbnails in the car selection have gone missing (on official Kunos cars), and the same happens with the sound during racing and replays too, some cars will have sound and others won't (also with official kunos cars, more so than mods). However, if I flick through the field of cars during a replay, some car's sounds will come back and others will lose theirs. The >95% CPU occupancy warning has reared it's head for me again as well causing small pauses when the AI needs to react to something.

Not sure if I've screwed up while adding a mod, though only a few cars recently, or if it's the v.10 release that's caused this.

Edit: Just to add, when the >95% warning shows up, whether with under 20 or over 30 cars, other apps show my CPU using no more than 32%. I also cannot have an AI race on modded tracks for more than a few minutes before the sound and picture freezes and the PC resets itself with no BSOD. Happens everytime on a modded track, and sometimes at Spa, an official track. Anyone else with any of these problems?

The only two problems I've noticed with content is since the update, the Zakspeed Escort no longer loads and the topgear track does not show in the tracks listing in game (but I never got to try it before the update so it may never have worked).

Lewis, about the missing thumbnails, all you have to do is select the car and and select a skin again, the thumbnail will be there again.
About the 95% occupancy on add on cars and tracks, a lot of add on cars do not have the lower lods like the the original content de, so they are always present at their highest definition, taking a lot of room to process, about the tracks, some add on are not optimized properly, with the same effect as the non optimized add on car. Laguna seca is a good example of a track that is badly optimized.

I noticed this made the car load again, but then as soon as I go back to the selection screen, they disappear again. No big deal tough.

I've always had this in mind, I had to turn down settings drastically on some of the long touge and street rally beta courses on my old graphics card otherwise it would chug, however even then with the old GPU I used to be able to have as mentioned, over 30 cars on say, La Sarthe, with zero problems while my CPU and GPU were both cruising no where near full load.

I'd understand your explaination had I not used to run some of the combos that I have for over a year now, but they've suddenly all broken since going to the full version of the game. No reason why under 20 Kunos cars on a Kunos track should cause an i7 and a GTX970 to struggle so badly they reset the system - in my opinion. Happens even if I go from 1440p to 720p, with lower graphic settings and fewer cars on combinations I've previously done multiple times, something tells me it's not the hardware.

@Lewis_Hamilton_ sorry to read that my advice are not helping you, when I did what I recommended in my AC, the thumbnails reappeared and stayed, not sure why it is not working for you.
Sorry also about the performance being worse now since the update, my AC runs smoother than ever in V1.0, and apparently it is also the case for most people according to the feedback on Assetto Corsa Support Forum.
I hope you find the solution and keep enjoying AC, must be fun for you when it works you seem to have an excellent set up.
Good luck :)

This game is so much damn fun. Even the lowly Fiat 500 Abarth is a joy to hoon around in. I've never played a game where you could feel each car's chassis so damn well. And every car feels truly unique. Even similar cars like the Elise and Evora feel substantially different in terms of turn-in, chassis balance, steering feel, and maximum grip.

That being said, I wish, wish, WISH there were more cars and tracks. I would KILL for a Honda and Mazda pack. Most of the cars in AC have rather dull engines. I want some small bore, naturally aspirated screamers. A DC2 Integra Type R or FD3S RX7, or AP1 S2000 or NC MX-5 would be endless fun in this game. Kunos, please put some of these types of cars in! Race cars are ok, but they have too much grip to be truly fun to toss around and their interiors all look more or less the same. More fun street cars!!

I completely agree, in rfactor there is a great AE86 mod, it revs it's tits off and has great throttle response, something like that would be ace.

Tried out the 787B and it's pretty damn epic. Only car faster (in my hands) is the newer Lotus F1-type car.

The F40 is simply wonderful. I start to understand why it is so universally praised by journalists if Assetto Corsa reveals any of its true character. Makes me want something similar in real life. I wonder how close a Lotus Esprit V8 would be to that experience...maybe a worked on MR2 Turbo? Hmmmm

Edit: I actually ran the F40 out of fuel hotlapping it, that's how much I loved it.

Ahahahahahah

Yep this game is awsome. Yesterday I changed my wheel settings to those of the dev that does tires and physics, and I found myself just driving on my own with a big smile on my face, like the first time I tried the game. It's the best experience of driving I ever found on a game.

Yes it has somethings needing improvement, but it's just soooooo good to drive it has all my time ;)

All I can hope for now is that they release the anticipated DLC (preferably the one with laser scanned Nordschleife). For one, I wanted to reiterate my support and pay for this DLC which I'm sure a lot of fans out there will also do so, so that they can keeping developing the game further and it could only get better.

The only gripe I have with AC 1.0 is that they still haven't implemented Thrustmaster wheels D-Pad support. Not sure why when it seems like 5 mins work. Not sure if Logitech and Fanatec D-Pads are supported in game or also not supported.

And those settings are..?

I'll have to try these when I get home. I have a Fanatec GT3 RS V2 and so far I'm quite disappointed in the FFB (or lack of) in AC. My settings are fairly similar to those so I must be doing something wrong.
Remember those are for Logitech wheels, so you probably will have to mess a bit with them.

I get to feel more the wheight change now, and I'm starting to feel more confident on turning.

I have that app (or one similar), I have it adjusted so I'm not getting any clipping but that hasn't helped the (lack of) feeling in my wheel.

I figured it wouldn't be an exact translation to my wheel but I'm willing to try anything at this point. I'd like to enjoy this game, but currently the FFB is preventing me from loving it. When I'm turning the FFB feels ok, but all other times it feels like it's been switched off. No communication about the road surface or the weight transfer or anything like that, just some tightness when in a turn and maybe a little rattle over big bumps or kerbs. 1.0 release didn't do anything to improve it. Maybe my wheel just isn't capable of delivering AC FFB, feels fine in all other games though.

Thanks, I'll see what I can find. Hopefully I can get it straightened out, all my other games feel great but AC feels like GT6 (or worse) on my system.

I believe the key for Fanatec wheels (at least the older models... I have a CSR) is to have the "FF" setting on the wheel itself set to 100. Adjust everything else from there.

I had it set to 60 for a while when I started playing AC and felt the same way as you are now. I changed it to 100 based on a recommendation from a guy at RaceDepartment and the FFB came alive for me. I had to turn the in-game gain percentage down quite a bit though, otherwise the FFB was way too strong. I think my gain is 55% if I remember correctly.

My FF is always at 100 on the wheel. Spring, Damper and Drift are all Off, feels fine in every other game.

Not trying to throw the thread OT, but I've been discussing this with some friends and here's a video I made to show them the difference in FFB between AC and R3E. You can see that in a straight line, even on a bumpy road, there's zero FFB to the wheel in AC but on R3E there is FFB coming from the road that gets more pronounced as your speed goes up. I prefer the R3E version much more.

I can't donwload 1.0 from steam. I was part of the technology preview (suppose it's now called early access?) and posted some posts on the AC forum to help the developers.

A few days ago I tried to open my steam account but it is not possible anymore. Last month or was it in October, my gmail account, linked to steam, was hacked and I removed it. Every time I try to open my steam account, I get the message that a code is send to my gmail address, which I removed. I can't even read my own messages on the AC forum anymore.
Yesterday, I tried to contact steam support but the website is under construction so I can't expect no help from steam.

I have no idea if creating a new steam account will solve my problem.

The technology preview was available for owners of nK-Pro, AC early access was the beta available for those who pre purchased AC. They were two different things.

Thank you (I was thinking the same thing but wasn't sure). Good to know but that doesn't change the fact that I can't use the AC forum anymore and can't log on to my steam account. I have at least one game at steam that I can't play anymore because of this problem.

Even if you removed the email from your Steam, you should still be able to go log into the email from a browser and get the code, yes?

I can't log into steam. I need the code and I can't get the code without a working email address. This email address doesn't exist anymore.

I contacted steam support but they don't answer, not yet anyway. Without my steam account, I can't play Portal 2 anymore.

Tip of the Day: Never destroy your old email addresses. I have at least a half dozen, some of them I haven't logged into in several years but still can if I need too, and others I use only for registering/ordering stuff online (this keeps my main email relatively spam free). 👍
