It's good to get away from a circuit and just drive in a game. Don't have to be ten tenths all the time.
Nice to row through the gears and not be on a clock or laps. Small low powered cars on back roads are more enjoyable than being on a permanent circuit. It's an actual change of pace than always having to be on a racing circuit. I still welcome racing circuits though.

I really just don't care about the open world stuff. It's bloody tiring that everything needs to have open world these days. As long as Kunos delivers on the track and cars departement I'll stop complaining but I find it a huge waiste of resources :indiff:
Kunos put resources on this simple because it was one of the most popular mods in ac1, it will sell, the amount of depth kunos go here is just insane, specially even more so for a dev much smaller than turn 10, playground games or polyphony digital, not even those giants has killer features like those.

I much more excited for ac evo than i ever was for ac1, its the first sim racing title that could put some serious pressure on both gran turismo and forza,

I like the fact that they are treating this like any of their race tracks. A real location that is scanned and not something made up. It will be cool to see some of the local businesses in the game.

I'm also still in denial that this map will eventually reach 1600 kilometers. Just for comparison, FH5's map is 108.

It'll be great fun virtually driving around the roads it took me hours to walk in real life.

So let modders do that kind of stuff. Again, I think it is a waiste of Time and ressources.

If something open worldish should be attempted, it's the route of Mille Miglia and not the Eifel région. But hey, that's personal opinion and I know I am a minority hère 🤣

Mods are the #1 reason this is in the new game to begin with. The amount of open world maps in AC that are top quality is insane. Why not put that in the game so it actually gets full support and updates with patches? Why not try to expand your current player base?

How do you know they didn't have a specific team just for this mode? The game has been in development for a while now. This is something that no other game has included. I'm glad they are setting the bar higher for some of these extremely lazy developers.

Incredible! To chime in on the open world subject, the problem with games like FH is the open worlds are soulless and lifeless and "too big" that the majority of the environment is just dull. I realise this is a huge area but...a huge area 1:1 scale with DETAIL, and LIFE and ATMOSPHERE and hopefully TRAFFIC among other things, is really exciting. I'd be curious how they plan to bring it to life as there is no point having a massive open world area if it's just empty nothingness. I hope the love they put in echoes the tracks and cars :). If they are working with IRL companies then wow...you'd hope they are on it!

Day 1 on early access for me on this, can't wait to see how it develops from day 1.

IIRC it's already rumoured that it will not be the only open world location.

What are the chances of modders getting into this and releasing mods of the Eifel area before Kunos does?
Very low, given that it will not support mods until after early access has finished.

Ok, who wants to help me pick a PC? I need this in my life.
Here's what you need.

Happy to say I can more than meet the recommended build already.

Wonder if the open world would be just said business and shops, as this isn't an open world racer like Horizon despite the vibe of the map setting being like it (taking a real life place). No looking for race events throughout the map due to the races taking place on parts of the map.

As long as they don't stray too far away from their circuit focus, I'm for it. It's funny to see all of the things I was asking for when playing Forza Motorsport 2 and 3 coming to racing games nowadays.

I am wondering about what specs will be required to run the game. Hopefully the optimization comes along.
