I like the fact that they are treating this like any of their race tracks. A real location that is scanned and not something made up. It will be cool to see some of the local businesses in the game.

I'm also still in denial that this map will eventually reach 1600 kilometers. Just for comparison, FH5's map is 108.
Wow wee 1600 square KM is bigger than the original TDU map of Oahu. That's insane.

So that's about 39.4 x 39.4 km^2, very impressive. I wonder how many more of these free-roaming maps they plan to add, because it sure takes a lot of time and money to make at this quality!

I wished this stuff. A grown man wishing this stuff for yearrrrrrrrrrs.

Wanting to drive around and stop at buildings in Gran Turismo. However, other than GTA, Forza Horizon was close to that. Drive around and drive to towns and drive to circuits. It would be incredible to leave from a garage. Take a brisk drive on some curves. Go to some speed shops and then, drive to the Nordschleife. Do a lap and then, drive “home”.

As long as they don't stray too far away from their circuit focus, I'm for it. It's funny to see all of the things I was asking for when playing Forza Motorsport 2 and 3 coming to racing games nowadays.

I am wondering about what specs will be required to run the game. Hopefully the optimization comes along.
Likewise with me, ACE is seemingly going to be doing what I’ve wanted GT to do for 8-14 years now.

Authentic and realistic physics with competitive AI, some garage management, and some quirky scenarios to navigate via an economy and maybe XP system. Doesn’t have to be too complex, but ultimately allows engaging and educational automotive for both experienced and new players.

New PC built ... ✔️
New Quest 3 ... ✔️
Cockpit upgraded with all new tech ... ✔️

I am ready for this, I've been waiting 25 years for this game to arrive ... Let's goooo 😎

Let see the answer of Gran Turismo after that.....:)

Wish that GT returning the map menu now is later utilized for this.

So let modders do that kind of stuff. Again, I think it is a waiste of Time and ressources.

If something open worldish should be attempted, it's the route of Mille Miglia and not the Eifel région. But hey, that's personal opinion and I know I am a minority hère 🤣
I have similar thoughts. Why not use the lidar-based fast modelling tech Kunos has to give players access to closed-road versions of famous roads (like the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse or Hakone Turnpike for example), bring to life large circuits of the past (like the Piccolo Madonie), or flooding players with several hillclimbs and street circuits? Locations that could be used for competitive driving and racing events, not just delivering tiramisu or getting stuck in traffic. I guess we'll see how the open world will be utilized, I hope it's not just a gimmick that uses a sizable share of the game's resources and that the game will still have a large focus on closed-course competitive driving and racing.

I don't know what kind of back and forth unit conversion is going on here, but I'd go as far and say that 1600 km² is even 40km x 40 km ;)

And tbh I don't see them add another free roam map in the near future. Sounds like this one will keep them occupied for years.

Quite disappointed at the moment, at least as long as they don't announce a damage engine equal to or better than rfactor1. That at least.

On the other hand, I was expecting some content outside of racing circuits, but HillClimb racing or rally, not open world maps.

I really just don't care about the open world stuff. It's bloody tiring that everything needs to have open world these days. As long as Kunos delivers on the track and cars departement I'll stop complaining but I find it a huge waiste of resources :indiff:
The difference for me is that it’s a simulation instead of arcadey physics, it could give a whole different feeling driving these cars around the country roads (and hopefully also villages) of the Eifel. Don’t know if you ever been there in real life, but I can tell it’s really nice around there.
A open area like this in a simulation like this, would be a Premier in video games as far as I know.
But sure, it also depends on the activities they implement in this open world.

Another grown man who has wished for this half his life here, I just hope they manage to bring the magic, devs these days tends to promise a lot and get us hyped, then does the opposite. Recent memory refresher: TDU:SC.

But seriously. Everything they’ve said about this game is everything I wanted for GT. A way to manage the duplicates with a "spec selector" or what you want to call it, an open world you can interact with, a place to chill between races.

I utilize LiDAR often enough with my iPhone, have for years. Pay me well enough and I’ll scan whatever you want and give you the data to use in whatever game engine you want.

I don't envy any other devs with all these open woeld demands, the kind of fidelity GT and Forza hits would make this kind of project blow the budget out of proportion.AC Evo looks gorgeous but not quite on the level of Horizon and GT.I'm fine if GT never gets an open world section even if it's a dream any fan would want. The series was never about that

We all have our opinions, but if it was a mod it would proably not be laserscanned to be 100% accurate, and its great to have something more to it in ac evo, than just rely on mods thst we had to with ac1, and quality comtrol was just not there, many of the maps looked quite bad, and none had any interactions with the buisnesses in open world.

Console players could even take part of this as well.

Day 1 on early access for me on this, can't wait to see how it develops from day 1.

IIRC it's already rumoured that it will not be the only open world location.

Very low, given that it will not support mods until after early access has finished.

Here's what you need.

Happy to say I can more than meet the recommended build already.
Would be little cautious with this recommendation settings, acc is quite demanding and evo for sure will be more.

That’s going to be a game changer if they manage not to screw up the driving physics as all open world games do. If they nail it then bye bye GranTurismo. I’m at least ones a month at the Ring so can’t wait to do that also virtually with friends. Have some fun on the back roads and some drifts at the turnaround at Ring Boulevard. Cheers

Should be no reason why they would, as the original AC runs well on free-roam maps, some of which are sizable (such as Shutoko Revival Project).

OK...with this news, consider my interest piqued. Looks like I will finally be able to push the limit of my PC. The more news and video I see about this game, the more impressive it sounds. January 16th cannot come soon enough.

I have a feeling this will be released on PS6 and not on PS5 which sucks for me and i have no PC.

It's looking great though, open world with simulation physics hasn't really been done officially.

If we have a world that large, we will obviously need some things to do there. Now I was a little worried about what Misha said about the tiramisu delivery thing as it sounded pretty scripted. a bit like the little stories in FH5. I truly hope they will offer a range of things to do leaving enough freedom for the player to play as they like and also get gameplay elements out there that are linked to actual freeroam. I am hopeful because of what Marco said about the fact that some days we don't feel like continuously trying to shave another 2 tenths off a lap time but instead we just want a quick and more relaxing 20 minutes of driving. I truly hope that means there will be reasons enough to use the map apart from simply exploring.

Not sure what to think of AC Evo. Yes, it looks nice but how any cars are there going to be? Also, it's only on PC currently. Who knows when it will come to console.

That is one of the reasons why they make Early Access, so that the community can give feedback and ideas to enrich the global experience before the full release.

I see little positivity about EVO and its open world but I think that until now Kunos has always tried to make its games based on ideas and feedback that its community gives it, unlike other developers, I think Kunos has earned the right for us to trust them, because so far they have more or less fulfilled what they have been promising (at least on PC)
