Hey guys. This may be a little premature, but assuming we are getting some form of MP with lobbies etc this Friday..

Any GTP guys interested in doing a track day? Doesn't have to be an ultra competitive race or anything. Just good fun of all varieties. Not sure what AC will have in regards to chat, so we can set up a teamspeak or something like that.

cheers

If my schedule permits it I'm in!

I'd totally be in as well! If anyone wants to add me on steam my name is crispychicken4960

Can't wait for online! Hopefully the community will be good and not the average ram everyone to win....

I'm in! About to change my name with GTP so it's gonna be like GT5 days. :)

I don't think that'll work in a sim. The collision alone will upset the balance of two cars, so both of you will be on a ditch/gravel/sand/totaled. I think "pissed" is the right word.

I think Skype would work a lot easier than trying to find a TeamSpeak server to use and have to teach people how to set it up if they never have before.

With Skype it's a super easy downed and you have text chat as well.

Would love to throw down with you guys for fun on the weekend.

I'm in! After the update I'll watch this thread to see how coms will work (or not) and go from there. Steam name: Rees_GTP. Should have time Friday and Sat afternoon.

I would of been up for a weekend track day on AC on the MP servers but this weekend I have 3 birthdays to attend to so I guess I will have to wait for next week end to enjoy this magnificent sim with the rest of the world.

MP here we come! :D

Sunday I'm looking at houses, but Monday I'm game all day as it's my day off. I'll see you online. Finally will get to race real people instead of those crazy ai.

As the game is still in "early access" or beta or whatever, i don't expect MP to work right away, hope i'm completely wrong though.

If I get a chance, I'd love to!

Do you get push to talk with Skype? And are we friends on Steam? I can't see a Wardez and I can't remember if you have the same name there as here.

Edit: never mind, just checked the thread you started about it.

Anybody get the update yet? usually by this time the updates are already downloading.

It hasn't appeared for me yet, I'm guessing it'll be up by about 6pm BST if it really is coming today. That's usually when the big updates come, anyway.

Does anyone know if it's using Steamworks for the 'join game' feature, or are we going to have to give out server names to people and such?

Interesting, I suppose the booking feature means we won't just be able to right click a friend's name in Steam then click 'join game'. It's a nice idea, but I've never understood why racing games need to do the whole 'oops, there's a new player, everyone back to the pits to sync with them!' thing, there are loads of games where new players can drop in at any time and the game carries on regardless. I suppose the stability of the connection is paramount when you're racing, though.

From AC's FB:

"Dear AC followers, we are encountering an unknown and unpredictable issue that causes random crashes with single-player race events, probably due to some additional implementations that single-player thread shares with the multiplayer build. We are working to identify the cause and to solve it, but we can't commit the new build within today. We apologise for this inconvenient, we'll keep you informed as soon as our development team will be able to make the new build available, hopefully within tomorrow.

Thank you for your patience and your kind support."

:(

To be honest I kinda figured it'd be delayed considering how major this update is. No matter. In all honesty, I certainly didn't expect MP to come this soon so what's a few more days. :)
