The power bumps, in terms of acceleration and overall weight, can be tied to a new ZF-developed 8-speed automatic. As most sportscars Aston Martins deserve to be driven with manuals but 8-speed automatics do restore 95% of the driving pleasure.
The new tranny helps flog the Vanquish from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. The Rapide S, Aston’s four-door sedan, makes the 0-60 run now in 4.4 seconds.
Changes to the engine, including reduced exhaust back pressure, having resulted in slightly higher power figures around 424 kW (568 hp) and a torque to 465 lb. ft. (630Nm).
Further will be the fuel consumption improved by 11 percent.
The Vanquish will now an average of 18.3 mpg thanks to the new transmission that replaces the old 6-speed. Aston Martin has also included the newest Bosch engine management system and revised the final drive ratio.
