Hi, I bought a HDD Dock, and a new 3TB drive. I docked the HDD, plugged it in (USB 3 via a USB 3 PCI card), powered it, turned it on, then turned on my PC. All was well, Win7 recognised the dock, then the drive, initialised it via Disk Management, a quick format to NTFS and great 2.8TB plus

I then backed some files up, shut down the computer, turned off the dock. Stupidly, I must've hit Ctrl-X not Ctrl-C, oh man worst keyboard slip, wouldn't have mattered if I could still access the drive atm.

Come back, turned the dock back on, pc back on, in Windows now I can't see my drive?

Maybe its there but it isn't coming up in Disk Management at the moment, is there some cmd method of remounting a drive I can't see via there?

I've also tried a Rescan and a Refresh, restarted the PC about 7 times, I've swapped the HDD to and from the other slot, tried turning off the dock while the PC was still going (which I'm weary of doing).

Any assistance would be really great.

I may be an idiot, but I'm a lucky one, I had internally my 750GB system drive, and my 1TB extra drive, so I swapped the 1TB (now empty thanks to Ctrl-X) with my new 3TB, and everything is there, I didn't blow the drive up *phewf*

Dice, that's not a bad idea... I shouldn't have to though, and Windows is recognising it when I use the power button (un/plug sound plays). I will try it though Thanks :).

I'll see if re-installing the dock works... but surely re-installing it ever time you shutdown the PC doesn't make sense, it was meant to install automatically, I'll check the manufacturer's website.

Drive is ok though, so rule that out as a problem, guess the Dock is the last thing.
