This seems to be my debut in the Baseball forums. I normally don't follow baseball too well.
But as far as my hometown Astros go, I'm actually surprised they got it together. I had my doubts about them. They were 15 games under 0.500, but with some strong hearts and smart ball playing, the worked their way into a postseason bid. At one point, we seemed to be the worst team in all of Major League Baseball. Now with some hard work, the Astros got the Wild Card bid. Afterwards, we were brave against the Braves. Recently, we flew higher and shone brighter than the Cardinals (even losing the game on the day the Houston MLB franchise was born with the Houston Colt .45's). Now, we have a date with the White Sox. I'm not confident, but for what I know, Houston has had great teams and great players, but NEVER a World Series visit until now. To me, they can win it all against the White Sox, and I'd be happy. They can come up short, and I'd be happy. To me, the Astros should be the Most Improved Team of 2005. No matter what happens, they have done what no other Houston MLB team has done- make it to the World Series.
For Astros fans, I have this question. The season may not be over yet, but are the 2005 Houston Astros the BEST MLB team in Houston history? Remember. This team made the World Series beating St. Louis in Game 6. No other Houston team made it to the World Series. And with a chance to win it all, are they perhaps the best Houston team of all time (at least at this point)?
