I could not resist this one. Quite similar to week 115 in the WRS :odd: Except with RH tires as oppsed to RM, but that makes it a little more drifty and interesting. That first chicane will be the end of all of us, though.

This with 280 gearing for 5 speed and fewer shifts. I tried 230, but the car has enough torque that it does not seem to need the 6th gear here on the tarmac in Seattle, IMO.

19.996/1:03.557

Will defintely be back for more on this one, very enjoyable combo. 👍

Will see how it shapes up!

Kevin

City track ... I'll give it a go but save my energy for the coming rounds with more space and supporters along the track. Did I see backgrounds of Apricot Hill and Tsukuba in the interest thread?
Anyway, have fun all and thank you Erik for a great initiative.

You really should Steven, its an easy combo, the car is perfect with racing hards also.

There you go again Kenny, mirroring my splits. :sly:

Week after week..👍

Not my best t1 there (19.732 full lap), but it is my fastest lap.

I'm sure you'll pass those times over the weekend.

I dont like this one much.

The understeer im getting is mind-numbingly long, and i have time to go get a cup of tea with the wheel elastic-banded to the radiator on full-lock, while it takes the first/last corner onto the straight.

Seeing as i spend so much time re-starting due to chicane errors, ive left the elastic band on there. It's just more convenient. :grumpy:

Anyway!

Im using 290 gearing, as i need 2nd, and its too short/long on any other setting other than that or 300, and 300 means 5th is too long, so 290 it is for me.

Im still totally unsure how to tackle the train trax, and ive tried combinations of 2nd, then third, then just 3rd gear to get round, but neither seem to offer much of an advantage if my line is all wrong. :yuck:

But i have managed to complete two clean laps, the second of which is mildly faster, so i'll post the splits.

T1: 18.633 (had an 18.3 but never again :ouch: that's up to Ron now.)
T2: 1'01.343

I preferred last weex combo over this anyday of the week, but still i just seem to keep hitting re-start.

Here's a quick VEXD lap:

128mph over the start/finish, down to 4th and plant it into the wall, erm, i mean fit through the chicane, then down to second and tight to blue rumbles for the left.
Back upto 4th before i cross the second chicane, using all the kerbs, and down to third for the third chicane, where im not sure which gear i should be in.
Balance the throttle round the long (fall asleep) left, then flat and change to 4th uphill, then 5th at the crest, keeping a tight line close to the inside barrier.
Down to 2nd, and just miss the inside wall of the right, then upto 3rd and do a james bond two wheel thing on the inside kerb on the right, lift off and power through the left, then drop to 2nd for a millisecond and back to third for the next, tighter left, and back upto 4th approaching T2.
Down to 2nd and back upto 3rd as you go left on the hilltop, then 4th before the first jump, and 5th mid-air before the second.
I love the next right, its nice to aim the nose for the inside wall, then drift to just miss it in 3rd, everytime. Its the only corner im consistent at.
I stay in 3rd heading upto the final double apex left, as the car rev-limits just when i want to slow down.
Down to 2nd, and attach elastic band, and put kettle on.

Do not redline this car, it doesnt help at all to thrash it, instead, change gear at 6,500rpm, or at the point at which your redline begins.

Good luck all.

:irked:👍

Thanks for the encouraging words Kenny but on my first effort my t2 is already 3 secs behind yours and/and/and ... so I think I will leave this till the next racetrack presents itself. Anyway, you lot enjoy yourself!

I'm going to dig up my WRS Tommi Makinen Evo replays for this one. That was favourite and most-effort-expended WRS ever. As VEXD says, chicane induced virtual driver comas/vehicle write-offs must have been in the hundreds. :D

Some more runs this weekend and some new splits.

19.012
1:02.826

I have been faster on both splits and have one slightly faster lap that is dirty. Have seen 18.8XX Ti's and 1:02.6XX T2's.

I picked up 1.3 or so at the line, by continuing to improve my last sector. Splits can be deceiving on this track. I changed to 290 gearing since I was hitting redline in a few places in 3rd gear that were a little inconvenient.

Will probably dedicate the rest of my racing time today to WRS, but I think I will come back to this one more time to try turn in my best possible lap.

Fun combo. 👍

Kevin

30 laps or so, and only a couple of them clean. This is my fastest:

19.401
1'02.435

Submitted. See you next week. :)

Just got back from the weekend and gave it first go:

20.150
1'04.773

I've a lot of work to do on this one!!

This time I DO want to show up in the results list, so I already submitted my lap...

Splits:

18.327
1'00.594

Only had trouble with the 2nd sector, never managed a fast sector with a fast T1, but this was as close as I could get. Great combo 👍

Well done Hugo, the Undutchable does it again.

I doubt i'll have the patience to run again tomorrow, so relegation for me it is.

:irked:👍

Tried to improve my lap with short sessions on each of the last 2 nights and could not.

So my time is submitted with splits as posted. Good luck to all still running. 👍

No it ain't :mischievous: Just read your lap description... If you switch to 260 gearing and shift at 6000 rpm, you'll drive a 1'00.xxx T2 in no-time :sly:

well ran some laps and well i didnt really like how the car handled thought it would of been abit better if im honest, but anyways...

heres my first splits try and get in some later or tomorrow

SPLITS

T1 - 19.417
T2 - 1'02.982

PM Your Final Time to Me, Once Only Please

I'm having the day off tomorrow and a little extra time (and a huge urge) for racing this week. Unfortunately I already submitted my time.

Can I get a dispensation from the above rule, if I in public confess that I'm a sloppy bastard, who tend to act before I thinks. :dunce:

Please. :dopey:

NO YOU CANNOT GO ANY FASTER!! :scared::dopey::sly:

No worries Niels, have at it 👍 I just don't want to be trying to sort a bunch of pm's at the last minute so I can get the results up faster.

Thank you. :D

I hoped you'd say that, so I had a tiny session in the mean time. :dopey:

NO YOU CANNOT GO ANY FASTER!! :scared::dopey::sly:

 Dont' worry. Splits are just getting slower:

19.343
1'02.556 :nervous:

I tried Hugo's advice, and im afraid he was lying.

Well, maybe not lying...:sly:
Just it didnt work for me man.

I got a slower T1 and a faster T2, but a slower finish using a car with more lateral movement due to the gearing setup.
He was right about being able to get a T2 in the 1'00.xx range, as i had a 1'00.904 but the part where he said "in no time" was absolute rubbish.
It took me ages, and in the end, i got sick of it.
I did see an 18.254 T1, but i nudged a wall later on.

Im going to submit, and wait for next weex fun.

Good luck all.

:irked:👍

but the part where he said "in no time" was absolute rubbish.

Damn, I was hoping he was right about that part as I've not ran this since testing :embarrassed: Then again Hugo lives in a different world then I, maybe I'll get lucky with a low 1'02.x :dopey:

UPDATE: whatever I've missed

Sorry Eric! It seems I have been spoiled by GT5P's beauty and crisp graphics as well as precise driving :scared: I just ran 10 laps in the Subaru and GT4 is like driving GT2 again for me  the car is boxy the pixels are blurry and the physics seem all wrong to me so quickly after only having prologue for 5 days ... ran a 19.0 / 1'02.2 clean and then gave up even though there's loads left if I spent a few hours at it :dopey:

I usually commit myself to the combo's I say I will take part in! but this is just bad timing as expected with such a release :guilty:

I will try to get some track time on the other combo's to honor my contract but I can't make any promises :sly:

Looking forward to meeting all you guys online when GT5 goes private lobby .. then the real fun will start
