Attack in high speed train in France foiled.

An attacker with an Ak47 who tried to start a massacre in a high speed train travelling from Amsterdam to Paris was jumped by 2 American military personnel who happened to be on the train and heard the guy loading his weapon in the toilet. When he started shooting they jumped and disarmed him. Because of this only 3 persons were injured, both soldiers are among the injured.

The suspect is supposedly a Moroccan, his motives are for now unknown.
He was handed over to the French authorities.

The attacker was carrying at least 9 full magazines of ammunition, one of the soldiers is in critical condition in the hospital.

I hope they shouted American **** yeah as they stopped him. But in all seriousness glad this wasn't worse and I hope everyone comes out of it alive.
 
Is there a control of immigrants from Africa/The Middle East to Europe?

Like, do EU authorities have access to the records of the people they're accepting?

I think that post from @Dennisch was directed more at the general idea of Americans in (insert European country here), at a guess we've all had peculiar experiences with Americans on the Euro mainland.

Personally I'm less bothered by people remaining alive than I am by people having been killed.

The suspect is claiming (and sticking to it) that he wanted to rob people on the train, and not be all terroristy like everyone else is claiming. He also denies that he has been to Syria.

He found his weapons in a park in Brussels, and he wanted to use them to shoot out the windows to escape after the robbery was done.
