I'm going to purchase one and I was just wondering if anyone has an opinion as to which is better. Right now I'm leaning towards the R10 TDI mainly because it is a premium and I love having the option to have a drivers view but if I hear overwhelming responses saying the R8 race cars are superior I might change my mind and get one of those. I'm a fan of Audi so I'm not really interested in any other LM cars of this class besides these 3.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated and thanks!

Havent used them in game, but in real life the R10 has better endurance than the R8 since its a diesal. The actual performance is about the same though.

Check the prize car thread, I think the R8 you win somewhere...

Ah yes, I would imagine the TDI having better endurance thanks to both the durability of diesel engines in general not to mention they also have superb fuel economy compared to their gasoline counterparts. The torque factor of the diesel is also another reason why I originally preferred (and still do) the R10. Thanks for the feedback guys!

Still interested in anymore input anyone else has :)

The R10 was a huge disappointment for me, especially given its 4.75M cr. price. Even pumped up, it can't compete with the other LMP cars in B spec mode. Given its real-life history, I figured it would at least be good at the endurance events..... no such luck. I had to ride the Bobs nonstop to keep the speed up. It does okay in A spec.

I've tried several different tunes, but it just can't compete. The R8 and Hybride (both available in the online lot) were much better for me.

I was disappointed with the R10. It was the first LMP car I bought (for 4.75M cr), mainly because of its real life history. I've tried various tunes, but can't get it to compete with the others, even in the endurance events where you would think it would dominate.

I bought the Playstation R8 and Hybride.... both have been much better.

2005 Audi R8 race car (playstation oreca) is 6-7 second quicker then R10

^^ LOL at wich point? at wich track? I've heard the R8 '01 is better than the playstation Oreca becouse of some changes in the rules or something? oh yea thats right I just got my R8 '01 with my 1000 ticket lool who woulda though?!? :sly:

The older LMP'S like the R8, BMW LMP and the Bentley Speed 8 are all ridiculously fast especially in a straight line. I think my R8 gets to about 230MPHish before the first chicane on the Mulsanne straight at Le Mans where as the Canal Boat XD (Peugeot 908) gets a measly 220ish.

Have both the R10 and R8 and the R8 feels faster and smoother. R10 doesn't like bumpy tracks and will kick the rear end out much easier. The restrictions that were placed on the R10 and 908 slow them down but they are still good cars. one thing this game doesn't simulate is engine malfunctions which is something the R10 would have over most other cars, it was very reliable.

Tough choice. I love the premiumness of the R10, and the fact that the Diesel makes it technologically speaking very different from the rest of the pack. The sound is different, the engine/torque response is different.

The R8 race cars are faster and very solid investments if you're looking for something to destroy the competition in an endurance race. The '01 model (I have the red one) is the fastest, but the '05 model has a flashier livery (+my Bobs seem to have a special 'click' with this one - they really make it fly).

You really can't go wrong with either... :)

The Audi's are actually some of the slower LMP1 cars. A 787b or a R92cp would just shred either of them as they were less restricted then the newer cars.

Either way you would be happy though. The fastest choice would be the R8 but the R10 is premium and it ain't exactly slow :) Shame the R15 isn't in this game :( The front end on that thing is beastly looking!

I think they all look awesome 👍

R8s are always driven pretty well by AIs & Bobs. a huge amount of torque means to an LMP? it means more fun if u have pads & wheels, less fun using a controller, especially on tracks like that alps mountain pass i guess..

The R10 is the slowest, hardest to control LMP i own. Has the lowest top speed too, and very high torque (120kgfm at just 3500rpm)
good luck exiting corners with that thing.

Id choose the R8 over it anyday

See my thread on how to use the R10 in the enduros. Took a long time to put together.

The red and yellow nose silver R8s are faster than the R10 diesel or R8 Playstation car. And they handle a dream, but they are hard to find, rare in the UCD and no oftern in the OCD.
