Let's talk about Aussie muscle for GT5. Has anyone noticed that Australia had NOTHING to boast about in GT4. First of all, where was HSV? That is way faster than just a CV8 and SS. Look at Clubsports and GTOs. We also needed old skoolers like the HK Monaro and whatever Ford has to offer (sorry but don't know much about Ford history). I'm thinking also of concept cars, other brands got some of their concept cars in but Australia didn't. Look at the HRT 427     and that mach/mark ii falcon or whatever it was, I've heard it was pretty damn fast. Cause, in the case of the 427, when we're talking 560 hp that's a car worth informing the world about and being allowed to drive!!!!!
I mean, even the Australian Toyota and Mitsubishi should be in it. Look at the Camry V6 and Magna V6, I even saw (in Bathurst 24hr) a V8 Magna.
Come on people, the show up of Australian cars in GT4 and in any game is pathetic, what Austalians want and need is a game with all our cars worth knowing and a lot of the lesser ones too. eg. First Holden built. I could keep going on with this topic for a long time and keep talking about cars for ages like the Torana TT36 or a good Aussie ute, but I'll leave some discussion for others. Anything you got to say, even if it sounds crap is worth talking about when you're talking Aussie muscle. 👍

Don't get me wrong, I wound be the first to shout it from the roof tops if they were to include the A9X torana or the Phase 3 Falcon, but i just dont think it will happen.
I would love to see the likes of the VL Group A (HDT) Commodore (the cars that Brock and Grice took to Europe), the VL Walkinshaw Group A Commodore (the Commodore designed in England for the World Touring Car Championships), the HRT/GRM 427 Monaro (the aussie supercar that beat the Porsche's, Ferrari's, BMW's, Moesler's etc. in the Bathurst 24hr), the HSV Coupe 4, the Mitsubishi Magna VR-X and even the Brute Ute's.
Obviously the V8 Supercars would be also ideal. Even though someone else has the rights to the current models, GT3 and 4 have both got the Seton/Crompton AU falcon, why couldnt PD add, say, the Murphy/Lowndes VS Commodore (to keep the New Zealanders happy) or the Brock/Skaife VT Commodore's from the same era?
aaaah!. . . . . . . wouldn't it be nice!

Camrys are avaliable in heaps of other places and Magnas are just rebadged Diamanties(sp?). If there's old falcons they better have matt black respray options, lowering blocks and cut springs to keep people from down south happy.

Mad Murphy NZ
. . . . If there's old falcons they better have matt black respray options, lowering blocks and cut springs to keep people from down south happy.

you mean Tasmanians???

I keep forgetting that you guys also get alot of our produce. I'm sure there are a few locally indigenous products that you guys would want to see. . . . .

You know I gotta admit, I am a ute person (a Holden ute person) and if there was one car I'd truly want to see in the game, it's a Maloo R8 15th Anniversary. That thing looks awesome. If that was in the game I would buy a copy of the game so fast it wouldn't touch the shelf in the store, and I'd highly recommend all I know to get the game. I'd also like an early 90's, say a VPII Ute, a V6, Cause that's probably gonna be my first car (an early 90's commodore ute V6).

I CAN START DRIVING LATE SEPTEMBER THIS YEAR!

And on that note, wouldn’t it just be excellent to purchase an old Torana, Commodore, or Falcon for your first car in GT5?

We need P.D to read this thread!

Edit: And we need the V8 Brute utes

I completely support the idea, as I am greatly interested in Australian cars, even as an American... The complete lack of Holden and Ford models was a dissapointment, not only in GT4, but in Forza Motorsport as well.

Now given the Holden Monaro is available as the Pontiac GTO, obviously the car is fairly well known in both lands... But going without the Ute was a dissapointment, along with the lack of HSV models, and a few of the other variations of the Commodore/Monaro lineup.

As for Ford, the Falcon lineup was nice to see. The Typhoon even recieved some press in the US for being a spiritual sister to the old Buick GNX, and I was happy being able to take it out for a spin...

...This thread does bring up the notion that there are so many cars you Aussies have that would be great in the US (or anywhere else in the world for that matter).

From Holden:

1) Monaro: Allready here as the GTO, but bring back the Chevelle SS and Buick GS, and underpin the new Camaro as well.
2)Commodore: Replace the W-Body cars (Impala/Monte Carlo, Grand Prix, LaCrosse, etc...) with true RWD V8 sedans that the names imply. Maybe nix the Impala/Monte Carlo and replace with Chevelle/Malibu sedan instead.
2) Berlina/Calias (whats the diff?): A real Malibu that lives up to it's name, or call it a Nova (as it should be).
3) Ute: Bringing back the El Camino after its overdue return, Ute SS means we get to relive the days of the El Camino SS... Rednecks rejoice!
4) Adventa: What the Equinox/Torrent should have been in the first place, a capable and comfortable crossover.
5) Caprice: Bring back the Caprice/Bonneville/Roadmaster marques in the US, as there needs to be a good compeditor to the 300C and Charger.
7) Statesman: Make her the Impala, and bring the glory back the the name that Chevrolet owe's much of it's success to.

From Ford:
1) Falcon: Should be slotted above the Mustang as gentlemans sports car, but below the Fivehundred as a sporty sedan.
2) Fairlane: Bring it here the way it is. The Fairlane marque has a long history here in the US, and the big car would be a good replacement for the Crown Vicoria, and a good compeditor to the 300C and Charger as well.

...Back on topic... I demand more Aussie vehicles in all games as of now...

HRT 427 is really important.

Some HSV's would rock! They are the best commercially available Aussie cars, why exclude them? You'd have to be nuts!

Same with the phase 3 falcons and brock era toranas. Very important to many Aussies.

It would be GREAT to see reasonably modern versions of a V8 Supercar Falcon AND Comodoore from the same era - so we can actually RACE them!

Mitsubishi 380 isn't just a Magna but as Aussie as a Comodoore or Falcon... the sporty version of that should be included.

SS (holden) & Pursuit (ford) Utes NEED to be in the game as an education to the world about a very uniquely Australian way of hooning!

Oh, and the Monaro needs to SOUND like a proper V8 this time!!!

There's a few I think that look like that.

Only 1 I know of is the Ute though.

I support the idea, but it may GT6 when we really start to get some Australian cars as I have a feeling P.D. will cut down on the other continents before they do Japan for GT5.

Another vote for the Monaro 427 from me, and it should be do-able given that the body shape already exists in the game. And with that in mind, ie. building upon the Aussie cars that are already in GT4, which would be the easiest and quickest way for PD to include them, here's a list of realistic proposals:

Holden
Monaro
- All past and present models from V1 to the VZ CV8-R, plus the original 'VT Concept Coupe' - no doubt awarded as a special prize for the Holden Cup ;) The body shape is the same for all these with the exception of small front bar changes and the bonnet scoops in later models, but that is relatively minor and will be needed for the Pontiac GTO as well. Power output and diff ratio changes can obviously be taken care of easily. The older models should be available in the use car lots, a full list of version colours can be found here.

Commodore - I would like to see the older VT & VX models in the used car lots, they should be a reasonably straight forward conversion of grafting the Monaro front section onto a 4-door Commodore, plus a slightly higher bootline also taken from the monaro. It would also be nice to have the old 'V8 Exec' model designation in VT series as it was a great sleeper car with no spoilers and alloy wheels :mischievous:
A Series I version of the VYII that currently appears in GT4 would be nice, if only to have it in Hothouse Green :yuck: <- it is almost that colour green!
The VZ I & II would also be an easy addition, again the only changes are cosmetic + minor power increase (for Holden it generally goes up[ about 5kw for each new series). With the VZ it would be great to have the SV6 model as well as the SS (V8).
The forthcoming VE may well be out by the time GT5 hits, so we'll have to wait and see what happens with that!

Commodore V8 Supercar - Add a body kit with big spoilers and race graphics plus a 600hp chev 350 to a Commodre and you have a V8 Supercar! Half a dozen from various teams and vintages (VT - VZ) would go down nicely and with the Falcons would make a great series championship!

Commodore Ute - The utility vehicle or Utes as they are known is another hybrid commodore body that has a front end from either a VT/Monaro (VU series ute) or current model SS (VY/VZ).

Other Holdens - There's a number of cars already in GT4 that are sold in Australia rebadged as Holdens, these include the Barina (Suzuki Swift), the Astra, Vectra & Tigra (Opel) and some hideous Daewoo (I think everyone can live without that!)

Ford
Ford don't go through facelifts quite so often as Holden does, so there's not a lot that needs to be done.

Falcon AU - For the used car lots the obvious contender is the AU falcon, which is represented in GT4 by the Falcon XR8 Race Car. Road versions of both the AU series XR8 (V8) and XR6 (Tickford worked NA I6) would be nice.

Falcon BA - I'd like to see the 'regular' Ford XR6, XR6T & XR8 appear in addition to the 'FPV' editions already in the game, they mightn't have as much power but they do look very similar and a lot of people who play GT drive them in real life as they are a great bang for your buck car, especially the XR6T. The series II BA benefits mostly from a 6-speed transmission.

Falcon Utes - Same deal as the Holden Utes but for AU & BA please!

Falcon V8 Supercar - time to give the AU XR8 Race Car a brother to beat up! the BA Falcon V8 Supecar looks really tough in real life and would translate well to Gran Turismo.

There's heaps of older cars that have been mentioned and I'd like to see as many of them as possible, in particular the racing Toranas of Peter Brock :)

All I want to see in GT5 is at least one HSV VZ sedan and coupe, and one Holden or HSV Ute (Preferably a V8). Hopefully a Commodore VL SS Group A will be included as it is a significant car in Australian history. A Ford Falcon GTHO and a AU Falcon TE50 T3 will be simply awesome. Maybe Im asking for too much.:sly:

YSSMAN

You guys know the current Monaro pretty well though the GTO but its the original Monaro's I want to see in GT5.

I'd love it if the put in the HRT 427 and EFIJY(not sure thats spelt right) concept cars i mean literally if the just put those in the current game i'd go buy it. Im not much of a ford man but the tru blu tuoring car would be cool. And why not a tuning house for australian cars ie CAPA if any of the aussies were at the summernats and saw the 1000hp capa drift ute and 700+hp monaro slidin round the dirt track at over 100kmh youd wanna be able to drive them to(you may have seen there lower performance ute crash through the fence and hit some ppl on the news). The point is CAPA is awesome and i want them so bad, plz P.D.:)
But if were getting decent Australian cars we kinda need bathurst too i reckon

End of heatstroke induced rant:ouch:

Quite right, a few Aussie tuners wouldn't go astray - C.A.P.A., Sam's Performance, Harrop, A.P.S - there's heaps!

mmmm supercharged V8 drift goodness! :D

Not to put you down or anything but it's CSV not CVS. Those drift cars are very cool, seen them heaps, they win a lot (duh). The Walkinshaw is a must have, huge part of Aussie history. I think also that the HK Monaro race car from Bathurst is a must have. Did you know, as a fun fact, that every single time a Monaro has ever entered a race at Baturst (the great Australian track, one of the top 3 in the world!) they won. Obviously therefore these race cars are a must have in the game. As is the track Bathurst, like I said, it's one of the top 3 tracks in the world. Now how could you leave that out and put in 4 different Fuji Speedways?
BTW, I'm HUGE Holden fan and very into the car world, don't underestimate me as a novice.
FUN FACT: The red Bathurst monaro, or one the same rather (maybe repainted) I've been in the pit lane with and had a close look at, very tight 7L engine. I also saw it race against and elder Porsche Le Mans car!!!!! It was awesome, of course the monaro lost, but what touring car could beat a Le Mans car anyway?
