Autolog is AWESOME

I've spent more time than I should be forced to getting my controls (DS3) set up to drive, but now that I have...I have to admit that I am addicted to autolog.

Autolog really opens up the game in a great way. I've added quite a few people from this forum (thanks to you all btw), and when I logged on last night I was greeted with the message that 62 of my records had been broken(!). First thought was, doh! Next thought was, awesome!

I of course spent the rest of the evening in a D-Class RX-8 trying to win back some pride!

The only issue I have is that some of the times are obviously hacked in some way. Not directing that comment at anyone here, but somewhere out there is a guy who can run Spa in approx :10.

If those could be removed/loophole closed, I could see many, many, many hours spent racing you all for top spot on the table for each track!

Autolog is great, especially for Region fastest times and highest scores. I have 13 region times and 1 world record time. As well as 5 regional drift records.

2 things- It drives my OCD crazy. I want to progress in the game. Oh hey wait, beaten by just .4 sec, ok, just one more.

And it shows me how slow I really am compared to my Forza tuner/hotlapper buddies.

It's cool, but I wish it was more separated by class. I often get notified that someone beat my time in a certain event only to find that I used a stock E30 and they used a works converted Apollo. I know it tells me the cars used, but it'd be nice if there were a leaderboard for each class like in Forza.

On the other hand, it's pretty cool to show up to an event with a lower-ranked car and beat out someone by a few seconds

they should do cars specific record for each tracks... so it's not just the Gumpert or GT1 which get all the best laps per track... Autolog with friends with almost the same skills is the best for me, it's fun to try to beat close time but lot less to beat the Pro racers out there and their impossible records... so I avoid to watch region or World times (world ATM is really corrupted by cheaters with just impossible posted times)

My fear is that in three months, every track and every record will feature the same works converted monster car.

I'm with you. Have at least D, C, B, A Class records so that my RX-8 can always be competitive in the D Class.

I agree with this. I don't like to drive 2000 PI+ cars, so autolog in it's current state ads very little for me besides the career mode races,\ which are class restricted.

The regional and world times are pretty pointless. I'm not interested in some time done in some car that is not even in the same class as I'm racing now. It would make sense to have something like in GT5 Prologue, where you had to drive a stock car and could only see times posted on the same car on the same track.

E.g. I'm driving a stock Golf MK1 around Nordschleife. It says world time something like 7 minutes. OBVIOUSLY I won't beat it in my Golf. Eventually it will all come down to who has found the fastest and best handling car and managed to tune it to the maximum and drive well on that track. Nothing else. Currently it looks like it's Gumpert and if Hollidog isn't lying then I might be right. Just learn to drive one maxed out car and you'll be fine. Therefore I say those times are pointless.

My friends leader board has a few 1500 A Class cars and one is mine so I'm guilty also, but it's cool to see lower class cars mixed in with better times.

I like doing the Hot Laps and Invitationals or those are the ones I really concentrate on when competing with friends' times.

For regular events, I try to use a lesser powered car and get better times but it doesn't matter to much to me if some takes a superior car and beats my time with it. Like people said, separation class would be nice.

Also feel guilty when I beat a friend's time with a higher powered car. Just feels like an arms race LOL.

was up till 4am running SPA in concept challenger 999pi, managed to get #1 over a 1505pi car and was pumped till i took a look at the clock and realized i had 4 hours to sleep.

My friends leader board has a few 1500 A Class cars and one is mine so I'm guilty also, but it's cool to see lower class cars mixed in with better times.

I didn't mean to say that people were using overpowered cars to beat my times, no need to feel "guilty" of anything. My times aren't even that great, no need to bust out the big guns.

A lot of the events aren't restricted by class though, so the autolog fails to do anything useful for those races. Take the retro events for example, I used a stock E30, and a stock AE86 up until the last race against the rival driver. The people on my autolog used highly tuned or works converted cars the whole time so my times are just sitting there, about a minute or so off the pace. Just seems silly.

You sir were the reason that I was up until 1:00AM trying to shave another .300 off of my time at Monza Jr in the Mazda. I really hope they can figure out how to keep it interesting by class. I would hate for battles like this to fall by the wayside:

LMAO, i noticed you passed me on a bunch of others. That was my first day of playing so i was going to go back in a slower car and see how much better i've got. Good luck 👍

Agree this has added something to the game that will make it last as much longer than GT5 and more enjoyable also.
