Thank you for taking time to read this and I will hope to get a good number of entries on Wednesday the 30th of September.

One question, I pretty much already have a few pictures picked out but I was wondering if planes would count? Specifically the Red Bull air racing planes. I don't think they do but I was just wondering since I have a bunch.

We'll see if that "open to interpretation" includes airplanes. XD

I don't want to be the ass who says "no", but it might sort of defeat the purpose of this being the automotive photography competition...

The line has to be drawn somewhere.

I figured that too I was just asking. And automotive is defined as anything that moves under its own power, so technically planes do count. I already have a car picture anyway though, just checking.

Ahhh the good old drift event - always heralds some great action shots. I think, however, that the shot I have my heart set on will suprise some people.....that's if I choose it.

Yes, and you had such nice lighting that day... I eagerly await this shot. ^^

Sorry to be a little late to the party on the subject of whether or not to allow airplanes. I would like the vehicles to be automobiles, the comment "open to interpretation" was in regards to how people want to represent action.

Ok ok, so I'll freely admit that I put out some weird stuff that shouldn't be compared to more serious entrants, but this week its so weird that I feel it needs explaining.

Put plainly, this shot is rubbish in almost every way. Its overexposed, blurry, slightly out of focus and the composition is all wrong. With that said, this, in my opinion, is what action is. It isn't a highly polished in-focus perfect framed panning shot (although those which enter the competition are still awesome), nor has it been given much attention in the PP stage - but I feel this is how I can best convey furious action.
I tried the over exposure of the shot to give a white heat feel that portrays the fury that I'm trying to convey when I'm seeing cars lock up the rears and plummet into a corner sideways at 130kmph+, inches away from a concrete wall separating car from spectator, through the camera's view finder.

Take it or leave it - I expect controversy :D.

Enjoy?

P.S - Thanks HFS. I think your resizing method works much better than mine 👍.

A nice explanation, and I find it quite surreal. And...I like photographs that are different. And thus I have to give you major props for experimenting.
