Ok i want an avatar thingy everyone else has one but i would like it to be of a toyota hilux xtra cab with hydralics sitting on the ground then it hops up does a burnout/fishtail to 4 wheel lockup stop then drops on its guts again then reapeating if you want to do it 4 me :D

(second choice would be a toyota supra just doing a burnout) this one would be easy as i have a movie i can take frames from for the gif. But it would not be as impressive i think

but i would not xpect anyone to do this 4 me so now heres where i need helpish i can make a gif by creating a series of jpg or bmp files and using a progy i have that converts them too ani gif (Teadeous is there a better way thats as easy) but once i have my gif is there a progy that can optimize it like PS does with jpg or do you do that first?

also how do you work out file sizes 4 gifs can you preditermine rufly how big a gif will be when its done

1. there are other forums

2. ill host it somewhere so size is not a prob i think. I want it to be over the top care about limits

Okay, with some animation programs (like Jasc Animation Shop) you can import movies into it. It will give you a frame by frame display of the movie because movies are just like animated gifs - they have frames. Then you can simply select the frames you don't want from the movie and delete them.

Your animation program must be either a very old one or a very poor one because when you go to save the file it should take you to an optimization wizard where you can select the amount of colours displayed in the animation. Download an evaluation copy of Jasc Animation Shop 3 or Ulead GIF Animator 5 now!

How do you work out file sizes for gifs? That is pretty hard to do. A 10 frame animation containg 256 colours, your probably looking at around 30-35kb. Might be less, might be more. The optimization wizard will tell you what the file size will be once you choose your optimization settings anyway.

Hope that helped. :)

thnx ed best help ive had on this so far

i already have ani shop pro and PS pro but i dont use them much neither do i use coral much illustrator i use a bit though

the progy i use takes a folder of induvidual frames of jpgs or bmps and strings them together in an animation no options what so ever image dimensions at start = same when done
