B-Spec bob drives with no lights at night!

Hello all,

So after finally reaching B-spec level 35, I decided to start up the 24-hr lemans endurance race since I wasn't going to be home much to enjoy the game. I didn't think anything of the car selection and performed a fresh oil change on the good old trusty Formula GT and selected my best three bobs to race. 💡

After I came back 6 hours later, I thought I would check in and see how my bobs were handling this grueling race. No suprise, they were in first place by about 10 laps. :) Much to my suprise, they were driving at night and in the rain, and STILL clicking off the fastest lap times compared to other drivers. I had completely forgotten that the time change and the fact that the Formula GT has no headlights.

I'm shocked that my bobs haven't protested this and just parked in the pit until it was daylight and dry. They're clearly super-human to drive in such conditions. I've trained them well. 👍

LOL! Good job! :)

Although a bit of an irrelevant question, I searched everyone but still no answer, are the 24 hour races in actual real timing? :/

...reason I am asking is because I read an old thread that one of its points was 'real time 24h races' and wasn't marked as it had happened :D thread was supposedly updated to date

some say that they have infra red vision and that their breath smells of carrots... all we know is that they are b spec bob

Is it me or do the other B-Spec drivers in the endurance races have super-human powers...

It seems like they only have to pit about 1/2 the time that you normally would. ALso, their gas tanks seem to stay pretty damn full and the tires don't wear out as quick :) lol

on average, they drive more normally.
less pushing the tires to the absolute limits through turns, less balls-out throttle application.

i can say, with absolute certainty, that if i were a real-life race car driver and drove the cars like i drive them in Gran Turismo... i'd be fired very quickly. the engines would explode in a fiery blast and my team would be out billions on tires alone.

my #1 b-spec, however, just may make it in the world of motorsport.

That reminds me of when Walter Rohrl went through a night time stage in the group b the group be stage completely blind and was fastest.

Yes they are.

Here is where PD could have improved things (especially bearing in mind the unnecessary grinding at the higher levels);

After completing an Endurance Race once, an option to have a 'high speed' clock (as in eg the 24 hrs Le Mans game) is then opened up for that race. You would still go through a 24 hour day/night/weather cycle but at say x2, x4 or x8 option, so eg at x8 a 24hr race takes 3 real hours but still with the day/night/weather cycles.

Back to thread, yes Bob does have superpowers and I agree with the tip - the driving line helps in the dark, I found that out at the Toscana Lambo event.

I came back to check my Bob around 18 hours later. It was night and raining and what I found more interesting is the AI in front of him as he came out of the Pits had no back end left on his car. Just the tyres. It looked liked he was side swiping every other car and wall LOL. I checked Bobs car and found no damage...in fact it looked as though he may have stopped to have it washed.

All of the AI can race in the pitch black in cars with no lights, because they're obviously programmed to follow the track and don't need to see it. Still looks silly though.

Oh ok. Can you unlock that by getting to level 24 b spec and then buying it or do you have to get to lvl 24 in a spec?

You can only buy it in the used car dealership and you'll need a little less than 5,000,000 Cr.

Being a Yorkshire man i gave my Bob's an old pit helmet, some birthday candles the type that don't blow out and a macintosh ,sat them in the FGT explained about how the night time comes and they are not to be afraid if they drive fast enough the bogey man won't catch you and if they win they can have thier pick of the cheerleaders. As sure as eggs are eggs they are currently still lapping the AI at night in the rain as i type Mcintosh on, candles on the FGT wings and pit helmet blazing. They are going like the clappers , seems to have worked a treat !!

did you pack a flashlight? :scared: :sly:

No, but my girlfriend is my alternate driver so I left the racing line on to help us out. I've never been so glad to have the racing line on before...

We're a little past 12 hours in. At this point the rain is much worse than the dark... 👎
