B-Spec Help: Part 2

Hey guys

I'm getting the hold of B-Spec now, and I wanted to ask one more question (and hopefully the last...) but my other thread was closed somehow, so I'm starting a new one.

Anyway

I've just ran my Caddy Cien with the supercharger producing 968hp (or something close to that) on Seattle Circuit in practice mode, after losing to the all-American championship in that same circuit. I wanted the driver to gain some track experience (if I do it that way) so that he will know the circuit when I enter again. I left it running for 40 minutes (22 laps) in 5 (Push), and on the 23rd lap, I came, and had a look at how the computer was driving. Jeez, the driver seemed like he wanted to go off-roading really badly! He kept swerving away from the racing line and hitting the sidewall. In one instance, he hit the sidewall head-on after not braking enough around a turn. So then I reduce the pace to 4 (Fast), and have a look. Still the same. So then I give up and join the race again. I went down to humiliating defeat at last place, several minutes behind the others.

Later, I entered a race (I forgot) at Laguna Seca, with the same Caddy Cien, this time without the supercharger. The B-Spec driver hasn't driven in this circuit yet, so I expect he will not be able to do his best. I leave the pace at 4 with Overtake. He overtakes easily, beating others in the first half of the lap. But when it comes to corners, especialy the 3rd from the last one, right after the weird twist in the track, he just goes off-roading on a Cadillac, again. Thanks to that, I had to settle for second place. Learning from this experience, I now set the pace to 5 with Overtake (by the way, Overtake does exactly what it says...am I right?) until I pass everyone. After I have a solid lead, I turn the pace back to 3 without Overtake. Now he takes the corners smoothly, almost but not quite going off-road. I won the race.

So, my conclusion is that in order to keep the car on track, I will have to change the pace when entering corners, and the overtake mode might be causing the driver to go off the road since I think overtake will make the driver more aggressive so that he can pass everyone else. But if I have to change the pace so frequently, then how does those people who leave their game on for 8 hours in B-Spec mode to complete 24 hours of endurance win those races? Won't their cars go off the track, and ultimately, costing time and speed?

I don't think that the driver wasn't familiar enough with the circuit, because after 23 laps of Seattle the driver has to be familiar! I can't find any explanation for this behavior of my car and the driver. Can anyone help me out please? Thank you all.

P.S. I don't really see any difference between the behavior of the driver when I put the pace to 1 or 5. Maybe its just me, I don't know. But the driver does not go off the track so often in 3 compared to 5, for example.
