i've just bought the game about a week ago and this is my first time using B spec (although i have gt3, just didnt know what it was lol). my question is, i've read that your driver gets better and better at driving right? also, where do you leave your fast level at? 4? seems like if i push him he wrecks alot. do you leave overtake on?

Welcome to GTPlanet, sixt5! :).

As you said, your B Spec drive is better the more you use B Spec.

where do you leave your fast level at? 4?

For a more controlled B Spec driver in the race, change the speed at diffrent parts of the track, maybe run him at pace 3 or 4 for a few laps, and then work out were he's going off the track, and where he can go faster, and change the speed at those parts of the track.

like if i push him he wrecks alot.

All B Spec drivers crash at certain parts of certain tracks when the pace is set to five, especcilly on the first uphill corners of Infineon Raceway Sports Car Course and sometimes on the last few corners at El Captain, to stop it, put the pace down on those parts of the track (you'll need to put it at 2 or 3 at Infineon).

do you leave overtake on?

I myself have it on in every race I do with opponent cars (AI) in it, I'm pretty sure having Overtake on or off makes no diffrence to how hard he pushes the car.

b-spec = cheating...

B Spec isn't cheating, it's just that many people get the wrong idea of it by B Speccing endurences leaving the spred setting the same throughout, B Spec was put in Gran Turismo 4 so you could direct a race yourself by constantly changing how hard your driver pushes the car etc. Not just setting a speed and leaving it.

B-spec Bob, I noticed, can take some cars on 5 very easily. From observations, he can handle roadcars on Softs (sports) or better at 5, even when at 400-500BHP - the weight and nature of the car is easier to manage. However, racecars need Racing Mediums for low-grade racers (DTM, JGTC, etc.), and LMPs and Group Cs need Softs (on an easy track) to remain on-track. Mine is at around 6700 points, with mostly course and machine skill. However, his battle skill is lower, which is, I guess, why he's so crappy at overtaking..

b-spec = cheating...

or is that just me? :)

Lots of people would probably agree with you. I've done all the endurances, some twice, some more than twice in A-spec and it's not all that much fun, but I did all of them first in B-spec.

I still run B-spec races while I'm asleep just to accumulate credits or extra cars and experiment with cars I set up just to see if my setup helps the B-spec driver.

b-spec = feeling lazy.... giving my eyes a rest.... giving the PS2 something to do when I'm not using it....

I cheat in A-spec any chance I get. That's how I see it.

To each it's own

The way I see it..B-Spec should've never been added to the GT series...I really hope they get rid of it in GT5, just so people can take the game seriously and not play just for the hell of it...like others

Ciao!
