B-Spec lost speed?

So I'm doing a B-Spec Le mans enduro, and it started raining at the 2 hour mark. With a grin on my face, I kept my driver right around the middle zone of his aggressiveness, and managed to lap the field 3 times by the 3 hour 30 min mark. I then saved it, and went to bed feeling smug. This morning I wake up, and fired the game up again and proceeded with the race assuming the field will be bog slow as last time.

Only my guy was bog slow, even though I kept him in the same aggressiveness, and even slightly more aggressive. Before the save the 2nd place guy was doing around 4:30 in 100% rain. Now he's doing 4:15s in the same condition, while my guys, even at full strength can't even break the 4:30 marks.

Did anyone else have this happen to them? It's like my guys forgot how to drive quick in the rain as soon as I saved and quit.

I'm doing the Suzuka 1000kms and I saw something very similar developing, for a while anyway. Race started in completely wet conditions. My driver blew past the field and extended his lead to about half a minute by lap 7, same as you I was keeping him in the middle of his aggressiveness, then I needed to turn off the game so I brought him into the pits.

Came back today, same conditions, and everyone was taking CHUNKS off each sector compared to my Bob's times.
Prior to saving for example, the best AI driver for sector 1 was in the 1:16.xxx range. When I resumed and up to the point when all the AI drivers pitted they were all in the 1:06.xxx range. The ARTA NSX at one point posted a best lap of 2:25.036, my guy's best while pushing at 75% was a 2:32.023.

Once they changed tires, the race returned to normal. Fifteen laps later my dude lapped the entire field.

Now, since we had the update, I wanted to check up on the Sport Super Soft issue with AI cars that hits after you quit and resume, and all the AI cars this time around were still showing Racing Rain tires indeed when I resumed the race, but they sure weren't behaving like so. Ten seconds faster in a single sector?!... Pish posh.

So I'm confused. I'm guessing the game doesn't always show 'Sport Super Softs' on the AI cars, but they're still there. At least until they pit and they change to the compound that appears on the HUD. Then again SSS tires were never that much faster than full wet tires on a completely soaked track... so who knows what the hell they had on.

My recommendation is to monitor the race until everyone pits and see if lap times change afterwards.
