Hi, im using PSN downtime to put Bob round some enduros in the X1.

Question is what do i need to set Pin-In strength level to so I can leave Bob to it and watch the footy this afternoon?

Thanks

Pit Strategy determines at what level of Strength he will pit in, where he will pit with about 10% left when you set it to 10, 20% at 20, and so on. Alternatively, whether you've set Pit Strategy or not, he will pit when his Tires or Fuel are almost out.

With the X1, it burns through fuel so quickly that your backup drivers won't have time to recover their Strength before getting back in, so having any Pit Strategy set will cause the drivers to pit sooner and sooner until they're pitting every lap. It's better to just leave that off and let them suffer until they need Fuel. On cars that don't stick quite as well as the X1 such as LeMans Prototypes, 10% would be a safe bet, as the drivers will start having trouble keeping the car on the tract when they get too low.

I know this will have been said a thousand times before (eveything has) but while we're on the subject, when a driver pits and the wheels come off, one wheel gets put down where a pit crew member is standing (is it the fuel filler guy?) the wheel goes staight throught his foot and he stands right in the middle of it for ages like he's a hologram.

I know you can't get everything perfect and I always notice the attension to detail first before any mistakes, but I would have thought Kaz would have noticed this and moved the position of where the wheel lands.

Watch the Red Bull X2010 tire change and let me know how that works, lol. Hopefully it'll be fixed in GT6.

@Bailout - it probably has something to do with all of the cars having different dimensions. That quirk might not happen with every car. I wouldn't be the least surprised/disappointed if they were the same animation for every car. Not evey car fuels in the same spot, side, etc. and some tracks have pits on the left and others on the right. I would hate if they wasted all the time it would take figuring 1000+ accurate pit animations. That's just not time/energy worth spending when it comes to the gaming experience.

Interesting, while grinding the B-spec 4hr Nurburgring I noticed the Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo does,'t have this glitch and the fuel filler guy stands at the back not the side.

Mind blowing attension to detail, great job PD. 👍

It's gotta be off. That thing is totally useless. It should add a measure of realism but you'll windup with Bob pitting on lap 15 because he's tired instead of lap 20 because he needs fuel and tires. In 100 laps he will have pitted 6 times for tiredness and only 5 times for fuel, etc... When they pit they'll topoff their fuel tank and that will take a while. Turns a 30 sec pit into 1.5 min.

About the fuel, I was wondering does having more fuel in the car slow it down a bit?
Because of the weight just like in real-life.
