Background removal help.

Hey guys I am new at this photoshop stuff and I would like to ask a question.
I will use this picture as my example -
Ok I got a picture right. Now how do I remove the background using photoschop? Like instead of having the road and trees and things like that how do I make the background black but still have the corvette the same color? I would perfer that you give step by step directions since I am a noob at photoshop.

Well, you're really going to hate me for it, but it sucks. It's one of the most tedious things in photoshop (in my opinion). You have to make a new layer, which is in the layers window, and put that layer underneath (drag and drop) the corvette's layer. Now, fill that layer with Black. Now, you're going to have to erase, this is the sucky part, all of the stuff you do not want from the Corvette layer. Other than that, it's simple. *yeah right*

All I do is highlight around the picture of the car (so the car is inside the highlighting and the background is outside) and then copy the car onto a new layer.

I assume that's what you mean, Pimpo?

I do it the same way as Stinky. Did I just say that?
Edit: I spent about 5 minutes and got this:

Alright thanks you guys. I asked a few people on AIM and they said the same thing but were not sure if you could do it any easier way so I just thouhgt I asked. Thanks alot now I gotta go look for the picture I wanna "chop"

I do the same thing in whatever program I am using. Just go around the car like you did but i leave extra backround material, then paste it onto another backround. After that clean off anything that doesnt resemble the car. Usually you can zoom way in too so make the detail even better while trimming.

Or maybe I could if I applied myself. Or cared more. ;)

Or used the eraser tool to touch up the edges to get an anti-aliased effect.

On a pic for myself, yes, I would have. I was only showing pimp racer a quick example of what it would look like doing it quickly, not accurately. :)
