Bad Painting

I just finished some painting on mah rust bucket, death trap 'go kart' (goes like 70mph in a tiny foresty dirt track, so I'll probably crash someday). It's only my second time painting anything, so it's obviously not that good, but I was just wanting some opinions on it?

It's a delightfully weird machine isn't it? :D

I'm not sure if you painted the gray red or the red grey but either way you need to finish.

Needs real or simulated rust if you want a trashy look. The mish mash masking doesn't show off that appeal so well IMHO.

Keep adding more (visual) stuff. It still looks incomplete. It lacks its own presence. Give it some more so you can look at it and say "there's my badass looking self-made go kart."

They make paint that does get the rust look.

Use it.

Then upgrade the engine, a sleeper go-kart.

You need to cover the chassis with something to make the kart more appealing.

That does look like a lot of fun . The seat looks very painful especially passenger side with the exposed screw head. Ouch. You can pick up some cheap foam from the hardware store. Then get a piece of leather or vinyl and stretch over the foam. Then attach as a seat. Will be much more generous on the butt and the spine. Roll bar with 4 or 5 point seatbelts would make it even more fun. :)

No no I took the seat off for painting. :) Although the lack of a suspension means that driving through what is almost a tiny rally stage still makes my body sad and bruised. XD

I`m pretty sure the dog didn`t know what you did there. And so feel I.

But I´m sure the thing makes a lot of fun. 👍

Hehe I've only painted once before, and this was to cover up my first attempt (it looked like the thing belonged at Home Depot before)

In karts like that it's usually best to be thrown from it in the event of a crash than stuck inside.

That's what I told my parents, but then again I'm surrounded by trees, so I'm just not going to crash. Is this a bad idea? Yes. Is it extremely fun anyway? Yup. XD

Sort of like old F1 drivers only nobody really cares about the driving/driver and the track's most often too slick to drive around without getting stuck.

No need to paint it. You're going to crash it anyway as you said in the OP. All the work and paint will be destroyed when you crash it.

Use several Go Pro cameras. I want to see that crash from every angle possible. :mischievous:

No suspension and diff what so ever? :scared:
