For some games I've recently got, I am getting massive FPS loss when recording. I'm unsure if it's an issue with the game as they are usually older games that it happens with. With Bandicam running in the background I get upwards of 60 FPS but, on 007 Nightfire for example, it jumps down to 10 as soon as I start to record.

Games I have issue with

007 Nightfire - 30FPS Normally - 10FPS recording
City Car Driving - 30-50FPS Normally - 10-20FPS Recording

Do you have another hard drive you can record gameplay to? Should help get higher FPS while recording. Also good to see what your CPU usage is with and without recording in them games, easy to see with Task Manager. If you have any antivirus protection, best to disable while gaming or enable game mode if the software has it.

It's odd though that it is JUST these two games. I play games much more demanding than 007 Nightfire yet I don't have that issue with them. I'm thinking it's an issue with the game.

Try setting CPU affinity.
Windows cant manage CPU affinities to save itself.

All processes run on all cores all the time.

Try setting cores 1 and 2 on the game and 3 and 4 on game capture program.
Defragging the HDD(if it is a HDD) will help as well.

Try changing the compatibility mode of the game and the capture program if you're on Windows 10. Windows 10 kinda messed up my games FPS and some of them even crashed.

You know it's normal to get fps drops when recording? Also what is your PC specs? You could try monitoring your cpu/gpu usage when it happens to see what is causing it.

It's weird though, most games it's never more than 10FPS but I play Mafia (the original) and with bandicam running (but not recording) I get solid 60 FPS then when I start recording the frame rate just drops to 10 and won't go back up until I stop recording.

Not to bring this back from the dead, but... Older games that are not set up for hyperthreading will often have issues running on new processors. Without hyperthreading, your are not getting full processor power to the game, when bandicam starts recording it could be contending for the same single CPU thread the game is using, thus leaving even less CPU cycles for the game.
However, without system specs, we can only speculate.
