A Bank Robbery happened early on in Chandlers Ford at HSBC, and after it happened, it made breaking news on many news sites, along with news channels like BBC News 24 along with Sky News.

Police Unit used: Flying Squad (Tactical Police, which is part of London's Metropolitan Police)

Sky news has said that one of the robbers has been shot dead trying to rob a security van outside.

I wonder which one of the gang was Mr. Orange i.e. the rat in Reservoir Dogs. Clearly the armed police were waiting for the robbery. This is a very rare event in the UK - infact, I've never heard of an incident where armed police were clearly already present a long time before the regular police could possibly have been there, and used deadly force like this. Thankfully no-one else was hurt.

This was so clearly a tip off, probably from a rival gang wanting revenge, armed police in unmarked vehicles and special teams would have no way been there so quickly a such a specific location. Obviously the Police knew these guys were seriously dangerous hence taking them down quickly... in the UK they hardly ever fire let alone with such force...

Perhaps they had their palms read? ;)

As you say though, very unusual thing to happen. In about June/July I witnessed two bikers waiting in a road having an argument whilst I was walking with my nephews to the shops, they then apparently robbed a local bank (HSBC), I nearly confronted them to ask if they were lost! They were armed.
