hi i've recently decided to build a Locost racer as an after work project but i'm put off by designing and building a chassis from scratch. does anyone have any information or know any websites where i can find information to help me with my project.
cheers for any help you can give me

That sounds like an excellent project. How long do you expect it to take? Could you keep us updated with your progress. Perhaps pics from start to finish. Might be a GTP first. Do you have any mechanical experience? Is it necessary? Do you need a complete shop setup, drill press , lathe , press?

What price range?

One of the many Lotus 7 replica type kits would be sweet. I think they are like 1500lb, and most people stuff 300hp motors in them. I dont know the specifics. But I think this would probably cost near $20k.

thanks guys for your help sorry i havent posted for a while but i've been busy with work, well anyway i started a replica lotus 7 back a few years ago and i only used it for about a month and stuck it back into the garage so i've decided to use that chassis and just change the body and engine for the rules of the locost racers. i originally bought a 3.2 bmw engine for lotus replica but that engine is to large for the race rules so i'm going to take it out and try to sell it. its only practically done breaking-in mileage so i should get something for it.
what do you guys think ;)
