I have the new Xbox OneX and The newest Forza game, Forza Motorsport 7 – Ultimate Edition - Xbox One

1. What gifts did I get with this special edition and how do I make sure I am getting them
2. Do you tune cars the way I did on GT, which I really didnt care for, too complicated. Is there a way to buy tunes so you dont have to do it?
3. Not in front of game right now, there is a section and I dont recall what it is called that is on the screen about tuning but the name of it is something else. What is that about?

I will have many more questions. Thanks.

Yes, I had a thread about the drivehub, and that is now resolved, this is different set of questions.

As to gifts, I saw some cars downloading, I think, but I have to go back and look now.

  1. You get the first 6 monthly car packs (42 cars), the cars are available for free once they are released. You also get double CR rewards after every race and the occasional free VIP gift. There are a few other things too but these are the important ones.
  2. You can download Tuning setups from other players. You can either search for them or grab a few directly from any Leaderboards you come across.
  3. Homologation is Forza’s attempt at Balance of Performance. Many events have restrictions on what cars you can use and what upgrades you can apply to them.
Those are basic answers to your questions, but feel free to ask more.

Thank you.

I will have more questions, for sure. I am using a Logitech G27 wheel and a CronusMax drive hub converter, once I figured out how to hook it all up, that is. When I need to use the hand controller to function the menu I unhook it from the converter, and so on.

I am now also realizing you have to pay monthly to have access to online games? I guess I got 14 days free to start. PS3 GT6 you didnt pay for that.

Both PlayStation and Xbox require monthly subscriptions in order to play Multiplayer. It was an Xbox-only thing in the previous generation but Sony decided to go down that path as well this time round.

If you get a new console you’ll often have a free trial for 14 days (via a code you get with the console) but after that you have to pay. That being said, both platforms also give you free games every month if you are a subscriber, which is a good way to build up your game collection. You can only download them when they’re available, but you get to keep them so long as your subscription is active.

Subscribers also get access to discounts in the store, so if you play a lot of games it pays for itself in the long run.

Both current systems require payment for online play. You can pretty much do everything except play other players (you can still do Rivals though) with a regular silver membership in Forza.

Instead of paying monthly, but a year at once. It's cheaper in the long run. That's, of course, presuming you will actually be doing multiplayer in the months ahead.

Regarding discounts, I occasionally download free games. There's lots of free ones on there, sometimes substantial games.

My friend says EA ACcess has some good stuff, if memory serves they do the NAscar racing games and I might want to do that for a while.

I saw my gift cars downloaded but are not in my garage or whatever. What is up with that? Should I own some cars by virtue of inputting that code? I dont see any.

MY GARAGE is greyed out. And in Car Collection I have zip.

You still need to go to the dealership to collect them, it should go right to the “free” section when you enter it.

Go to [Buy Car].

There should be a tab for [Free Cars], you can pick them up from there.

OK thanks, will check this out later when I go home for lunch.

For the online access [gold membership] it is best to pay 1 year at a time if you can swing it.
My friend says sometimes he sees deals on Ebay for that. I dont mind paying the full price whatever it is but right now my wheel is the problem, no feedback, no feel to it as I have to use drive hub so the Xbox will recognize it.

I am a GT fanboy and I play Forza 7, the game I wish GT would become. But now with both the Motorsport and Horizon editions this series are on a different level. You will still need GTS for some proper online experience. When you'll done with FM7 go try Horizon 3.

Horizon 3? I now have PS3 and OneX machines hooked up which means if you are on PS4 online I am not racing with you, right? I am not gonna get PS4 at least not now.

I have Logitech G27 wheel working with OneX via the adapter by Cronusmax but cant figure out how to adjust feedback, feel, it is like it has no power-steering, very hard to turn.

Yeah the wheel support is not that wide on the XBOX1 those so called adapters do not seem to work very well if at all.

I'm playing Forza 7 on the PC largely because of the better wheel support on the PC there the G27 should work fine, I use a Fanatec Elite which works fine on Xbox360, PS3 and PC but not at all on Xbox1 without some sort of adapter which doesn't really work.

If you really want to play Forza on Xbox with a wheel then you need to get a wheel that directly supports the XBox 1

I think your best bet is to buy a new Xbox1 wheel.
My G920 works great with Forza and AC. My stubbornness saw me wait 3 years to buy a new wheel for the new consoles, but it is what it is.

"Horizon 3" is Forza Horizon 3, it's NFS meets Gran Turismo, basically. So if driving cars in an open world, in a game much better than any NFS game ever made suits you, you will love it.

Thanks, so the wheel I would get for the Xbox OneX is the G920, OK.

I might check out Horizon 3, one game I used to like was the NASCAR racing for the live races, especially on the Talladega track. I wonder if anybody here does that one, assume there is one for Xbox.

Forzathon greyed out now, says coming soon. Wasnt I able to click on that just yesterday?

Difference between career section and cup section?

I need help knowing which races I need to run to go forward in career, there are so many.

WHICH races in the first division, do I need to run to advance to the next?

Sure hope I am not the only one for who the servers are down?

It's probably down then.

Difference between career section and cup section?
The cups are the career.

Whichever you want.

Very unlikely.
Probably down along with Forzathon, maybe fixing it, as I heard there were some bugs with it.

The Fanatec CSL Elite is a better option, as are the Thrustmaster TX and TS-XW wheels.

Thanks, as to which races to run to get advanced in career i guess the answer is you have to run every race in every division.

And now when I turn the xbox off and come back to play I am always disconnected from the net. I can reconnect, but now it is every time, dammit.

Each race contributes SP points towards the counter, each division says how much is needed when you hover over it. You can do whatever races you want, they all contribute to the points

Not at all.

After a certain amount of sp's in each cup, you gain access to the next cup.
After "completing" (reaching minimum sp's) the Forza drivers cup (the finale cup) you unlock "elite" series in every cup.
After a certain amount more sp's in each cup, you gain access to the final showcases.

By the time you have everything unlocked, it's about 30-40% of the series that you "have" to drive.

And now when I turn the xbox off and come back to play I am always disconnected from the net. I can reconnect, but now it is every time, dammit.
Mine did that for a while, and other times not. I had it set to log in automatically, it may be a slight hiccup in your wifi connectivity.

Aren't they more expensive?
You can get the G920 with a shifter for around $330 U.S. I'd put it on par with my Fanatec GT3 RS with clubsport pedals I had for the PS3. ($280 in a bundle but no shifter, compared to G920 @ $290 w/o shifter)

Thanks for all this, as to connectivity, is there a setting to log on automatically? I dont see one, am I missing something?
